SteamDB also lists Steam Scream Fest V, a themed horror event, for October 26–November 2, 2026. Dates tell you when to look—not whether a particular game will be discounted or whether its price will be the lowest available.

Valve’s seasonal schedule lists three major Steam-wide sales after the Autumn Sale, which ends October 8, 2026. SteamDB lists one earlier themed event: Steam Scream Fest V.

The Autumn Sale runs October 1–8, 2026, per Valve’s schedule. Valve says Steam holds four seasonal sale events each year. SteamDB describes the Summer and Winter sales as the larger events, but that does not mean every game will be discounted more heavily then.
How to use the calendar without overspending
A sale date is a useful point to check prices, not a reason on its own to buy. Valve says sale featuring rotates during an event, and released games can participate; neither means that every title will be on sale. Discounts of at least 20% automatically trigger wishlist email notifications, according to Valve’s seasonal-sale documentation.

- Wishlist the games you actually want. Steam can notify you when a wishlisted game receives a qualifying discount of at least 20%.
- Set a personal price limit. Decide what you can comfortably spend before browsing, and compare the offer with that limit rather than focusing only on the percentage discount.
- Check the game’s price history. SteamDB recommends reviewing past prices. A sale price is easier to assess against the same game’s history than against its advertised discount alone.
- Compare alternatives where useful. SteamDB recommends comparing storefront prices and considering bundles. Check that a bundle includes items you want and that the total fits your budget.
SteamDB says prices do not change day by day during an event. Treat that as SteamDB’s guidance, not a guarantee about every title or storefront; check the listing when you are ready to buy.

The scheduled dates help you plan when to check, but they do not establish that a game will take part, what its price will be, or whether that price will beat its own previous low. The schedule also says nothing about how many players find gaming unaffordable. To make a decision that works for your finances, compare the actual price with your budget and the game’s own price history; waiting for a larger seasonal event is not a promise of a better deal.
