Applications ran from March 12 to April 2, 2024, and the cycle is now closed: the Council published final results in 2025. Anyone searching for how to apply to this notice can no longer submit an application.
What the 2024 recruitment covered
This was a direct recruitment drive by the Bihar Vidhan Parishad Secretariat under Advertisement No. 02/2024. The three posts had different skill requirements, so the five DEO vacancies should not be overlooked when the drive is described as an ABO and Stenographer recruitment.

The vacancy figures are reported by the contemporaneous Scroll recruitment report and should be read alongside the Secretariat’s Advertisement No. 02/2024. The later-stage checks are described in the Council’s January 2025 notice.
Application dates and current status
The online application window was March 12 through April 2, 2024. It has expired, so there is no current application route for Advertisement No. 02/2024. Do not rely on old application links or pages that still present the drive as open.

The recruitment proceeded to later-stage checks in January 2025. The Council archive lists final results for DEO and Stenographer dated April 4, 2025, and the Assistant Branch Officer final result dated October 4, 2025. The archived notices are available on the official recruitment archive.
How applications worked when the notice was open
For historical reference, eligible candidates had to apply online during the stated window through the recruitment process identified in Advertisement No. 02/2024. Because that application period is over, these are not steps a candidate can complete now:
- Read the official Advertisement No. 02/2024 and confirm the eligibility conditions for the specific post and category.
- Use the application route specified in the advertisement during the open application period, provide the requested details and submit by April 2, 2024.
- Follow the official notices for subsequent selection stages and results.
The original notice is the controlling source for eligibility, age limits, application fees, category-wise vacancy allocation and pay. Those details should not be inferred from general descriptions of the recruitment: consult the official advertisement for the exact terms.
What the later selection stage tested
The Council’s notice dated January 2025 scheduled computer-based second-stage checks for January 29 and 30, 2025. It specified Hindi and English typing and MS Office word processing. Stenographer candidates also had a Hindi stenography test. The Council’s second-stage notice is the source for the test requirements and dates.
The practical distinction is post-specific: stenography practice applies to the Stenographer role, while the notice also identifies typing and word-processing checks. Candidates preparing for a future stenographer recruitment may choose a Hindi shorthand practice book as an optional study aid; the Council did not prescribe or endorse a particular book.
