RoboMarkets announced the mobile version of its proprietary R Trader web platform on December 26, 2019. It was a mobile web terminal, not a native iOS or Android app; current RoboMarkets materials call the product RoboMarkets Platform and refer to its web terminal and app.
Here is what the 2019 release included, how current app features work, and where to find current support information. The historical launch details are reported by Finance Magnates Directory; current naming and instructions come from the RoboMarkets Platform page and RoboMarkets Help Center.
What RoboMarkets launched in 2019
The mobile release brought core account and trading functions to a smartphone browser. The launch announcement identified Angular as the technology behind the terminal and said RoboMarkets had improved its update algorithm to reduce disruption while customers were trading. The initial release included what the company called “major functionality,” with further expansion planned.
The original launch address was https://rtrader.umstel.com/mobile. It now resolves to a page titled StocksTrader Terminal and requires JavaScript, so it should not be treated as the current R Trader product page. See the current terminal URL.

What the product is called now
RoboMarkets’ current public materials call the product RoboMarkets Platform and offer access through a RoboMarkets web terminal and a RoboMarkets app. The platform page provides a “Launch web terminal” button and a “Download mobile app” link. The Help Center separates documentation into “RoboMarkets app” and “Web terminal overview.”
The current app documentation covers instruments, watchlists, charts, positions, orders, history, news, and corporate events. A guide that refers to “R Trader Mobile” or the old Umstel URL may not match the current interface.
How to find an instrument in the current app
- Open the app and go to the Home tab.
- Tap the Search field with the magnifying-glass icon.
- Enter a ticker or company name.
- Use the category or country filters if the results are too broad.
The Home tab includes default watchlists such as Best of the Year, US Market Movers, and Popular Today. The app does not search instruments by price. For instruments with the largest declines over a selected period, the Help Center directs users to the Top Losers watchlist. See how to find financial instruments in the app.
How to open a position
After selecting an instrument, tap Open New Position. The order form requires a volume. Limit and Stop orders also require an order price. Depending on the order, you can add a Take Profit, Stop Loss, and expiration time.

Available expiration choices are:
- Good Till Cancelled
- Day Order
- End of Week
- End of Month
- Select Date and Time
- Enter the required volume and, where applicable, the order price.
- Review the automatically calculated margin requirement.
- Check any Take Profit, Stop Loss, or expiration settings.
- Select Buy or Sell.
- Tap Confirm.
The form calculates required margin from volume and the current asset price. The i icon shows the applied markup and daily interest in the account currency. Review these figures before submitting an order. The Help Center explains how to open a new position.
Market orders are restricted outside trading hours
The app allows Limit and Stop orders to be placed 24/7, but it does not allow a Market order outside the relevant trading hours. A pending order can therefore be created when a market is closed, while an immediate execution attempt may not be available. This is a platform rule, not necessarily a technical fault.
In the web terminal’s Trading window, order types are labelled Market order, Stop order, and Limit order. The trading buttons are labelled SELL and BUY, and the position-size field is labelled Volume. See the Trading window guide.
Checking positions, orders, and history
Use the Portfolio tab to review account activity:
| Section | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Positions | Balance, Equity, Unrealised P/L, open positions, and grouping options |
| Orders | Filled orders |
| History | Realised P/L, deposits and withdrawals, cash corrections, dividends, and tax corrections |
Tap Balance, Equity, or Unrealised P/L in the Positions view to reveal Margin, Free margin, and Margin level. History can be filtered to all history, today, this week, this month, or a custom period. Details are in the Help Center’s Positions, Orders, and History guide.

Charts and available timeframes
Open an instrument to access its chart. The controls in the upper-right corner appear in this order: Crosshair, Timeframe, Chart type, and the technical-indicator control.
The documented timeframes are:
- 1 minute
- 5 minutes
- 30 minutes
- 1 hour
- 4 hours
- 1 day
- 1 week
- 1 month
Chart styles include candlesticks, bars, lines, areas, and Heikin-Ashi. Chart availability does not remove the risks of leveraged trading or guarantee that a displayed price will be available for execution. See the Help Center’s Charts in the app guide.
Device and browser requirements
RoboMarkets documents the current mobile product as a Progressive Web App. Its listed requirements support the latest version and one previous version of the relevant browser.
| Device | Supported browsers and reference requirements |
|---|---|
| iPhone | Chrome or Safari; logical resolution from 375×667; reference device iPhone 7 with iOS 12 or later |
| iPad | Reference device iPad 5 with iOS 11 or later |
| Android smartphone | Chrome or Firefox; Android 8.0 or later |
| Android tablet | Logical resolution from 768×1024 |
For the desktop web terminal, JavaScript and cookies must be enabled. RoboMarkets recommends Chrome on Windows and macOS. Edge, Firefox, and Safari may work, but display errors can occur. Browser extensions, add-ons, plugins, or other third-party software can also interfere. Check the system requirements before troubleshooting.

The Bottom Line
The headline refers to a real RoboMarkets launch on December 26, 2019, but it concerned a mobile web terminal—not a native mobile app. RoboMarkets now presents the service as its RoboMarkets Platform, accessed through the web terminal and current mobile app. Users following older instructions should rely on the current platform page and Help Center rather than assuming the original R Trader name or URL still applies.
