The available reports give no dollar salaries or contract records, so the comparison remains Streisand’s account rather than an independently verified pay figure.
What Streisand said about her pay
In a June 23, 2025 interview with Variety, Streisand said she had not received what the other people on Meet the Fockers were paid and was still angry about it. Asked about a possible return to the franchise, she said, “They’d have to pay me a lot of money because I didn’t get paid what the other people got paid, and so I’m pissed off.” She added, “I was in the time when women were getting paid less than the men.” Us Weekly reported the exchange.
Her memoir gave a specific comparison with Dustin Hoffman
In My Name Is Barbra, Streisand wrote that she did not ask what the other actors were earning, but was hurt to learn that Hoffman was getting “three times as much as me, plus a tiny percentage.” The Daily Beast reproduced the passage in its 2023 report. Streisand also cited $520 million as the film’s gross in that passage; that is the figure in her account, not a salary record or independently established box-office total here. The Daily Beast’s memoir coverage does not provide the underlying contracts.
What is—and isn’t—established
- Established as Streisand’s claim: she said she was paid less than the other people on the film, and her memoir specifically compared her pay with Hoffman’s.
- Not stated in the reporting: her dollar salary, Hoffman’s dollar salary, the percentage’s value, or the terms of either actor’s contract.
- Scope: her memoir’s specific comparison is with Hoffman. Her 2025 remark refers broadly to “the other people”; it does not identify each co-star or establish that every male cast member received more.
Streisand also said Ron Meyer, then head of Universal, sent her a bonus check after her role in the franchise. She called the gesture “very sweet.” The report does not give the bonus amount or say whether it altered her original compensation terms. Us Weekly reported her comment about the bonus.

Why the story came up again
Streisand played Roz Focker in Meet the Fockers (2004), after Meet the Parents (2000), and returned for Little Fockers (2010). In the 2025 interview, the pay issue arose while she discussed Ariana Grande and the possibility of returning as Roz. Her remark brings renewed attention to an earlier account, but does not add salary figures or contract documentation. Us Weekly’s report covers the interview context.
