What the 2024 recruitment covered
Scroll.in reported that the common 2024 recruitment notice covered Assistant Sub Inspector (Stenographer/Combatant Stenographer) and Head Constable (Ministerial/Combatant Ministerial) roles in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), as well as Warrant Officer (Personal Assistant) and Havildar (Clerk) roles in Assam Rifles.
| Post category | Vacancies reported |
|---|---|
| Head Constable (Ministerial) | 1,283 |
| ASI (Stenographer) | 243 |

These figures and the deadline were reported by Scroll.in in 2024; they have not been independently checked against the official notification PDF here.
What was the last date to apply?
The reported closing time was July 8, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. The 2024 application window is over, so this recruitment should not be treated as a current opportunity.
Where was the direct application link?
The historical portal named in the 2024 report was rectt.bsf.gov.in. It is provided as the portal associated with that past recruitment, not as confirmation that applications for these posts remain open. Check the latest official BSF notice before acting on any recruitment listing.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Do not confuse it with a separate 2026 listing
A separate 2026 BSF recruitment listing also reports 1,526 vacancies, but it concerns Head Constable Radio Operator and Head Constable Radio Mechanic posts, not the 2024 ASI Stenographer and Head Constable Ministerial recruitment. The secondary listing reports an August 26, 2026 closing date; confirm details against the linked official BSF notice before relying on them.
The original 2024 report said eligibility, age limits, pay scale, and other conditions were set out in the notification. Those specifics are not included here because the official PDF was not independently retrieved.
