The same filing history records BFC Investment Company Ltd ceasing to be a person with significant control, but it does not show a complete current ownership breakdown or exact share percentages. No reliable, attributable estimate of an owner’s personal net worth is established in the available evidence. A September 2026 Fan Advisory Board report, meanwhile, describes Academy spending and several stadium and anniversary plans that were still at different stages of discussion.
What do the latest ownership filings show?
Companies House’s filing history for Barnsley Football Club Limited (company number 04573250) records two relevant filings dated 13 July 2026: BFC Investment Company Ltd’s cessation as a person with significant control (PSC), and a change to Neerav Parekh’s PSC details. The filing-history listing does not provide the full details of Parekh’s change or a current percentage ownership table, so those entries alone do not establish who holds what proportion of the club today.

The same company’s accounts for the year ended 30 June 2025 were filed on 20 March 2026. Company accounts describe the company’s finances; they are not a measure of an individual owner’s personal wealth.
Why director and PSC records are different
The Companies House officers register lists Parekh as an active director, appointed on 19 December 2017. It also lists James Patrick Cryne, Jean Cryne, Jonathan Flatman, Julie Anne Quay and Robert Zuk as active directors. A directorship records a company role; it does not, by itself, prove share ownership or establish an individual’s ownership percentage. A PSC filing addresses control, but the July filing-history entry does not display enough detail to derive a complete current ownership picture.

- Inspired by the world's largest soccer matchup, the adidas FIFA World Cup 26 soccer ball pairs design with performance. A seamless TSBE surface enhances touch. The butyl bladder ensures consistent shape retention for every match or practice session.
- TSBE TECHNOLOGY: Seamless surface for better touch and lower water uptake
- KEEPS ITS SHAPE: Butyl bladder for best air retention
- REQUIRES INFLATION: Ships flat, pump not included
- FIFA QUALITY AND OFFICIALLY LICENSED: Officially licensed by FIFA, the ball passed FIFA tests on circumference, weight, rebound and water absorption
These are filed company records, not independently verified statements: Companies House says it does not check the accuracy of information filed with it. The filing facts should therefore be attributed to the register rather than treated as a complete account of the club’s ownership arrangements.
What is known about the owners’ net worth and business interests?
No reliable, attributable personal net-worth estimate for the club’s owners is established in the evidence available here. Repeating a figure without a named methodology, date and primary evidence would give a misleading impression of precision. Barnsley Football Club Limited’s accounts cannot fill that gap: they report on the company, not the personal assets and liabilities of its directors or controllers.
Nor is there a verified, complete list of the current owners’ outside business interests. Older accounts of the consortium assembled in 2017 or of previous ownership roles are not sufficient to establish present-day business portfolios. The defensible answer is that the available records identify company roles and control-related filings, but do not support a comprehensive personal wealth or business profile.

What club plans were reported in September 2026?
The Barnsley FC Fan Advisory Board published an account of its 8 September 2026 meeting on 14 September. It reports spending, proposals and ongoing work as they stood at that time; these should not be read as proof that every project was approved, funded or completed.
Academy support
The Fan Advisory Board reported that Barnsley FC spends around £1.51 million a year of its own money operating its Category 2 Academy. It also reported that Academy players received one third of first-team minutes that season. These are figures reported in the board’s meeting account, not independently audited statistics presented here.
The club was expected to prepare a shortlist of potential Academy projects that supporters might help fund, with transport, kit and nutrition among the examples. The report describes a proposed shortlist, not a confirmed fundraising programme or a commitment to particular projects.

Screen, floodlights and stadium works
A replacement screen spanning the full width and standing two storeys high had been quoted at £55,000, according to the board’s report; replay capability would cost extra. The screen was being considered as a possible Fan Advisory Board signature project. The club would need to contribute alongside any potential fan or third-party funding, and the Supporters’ Trust was still considering whether to assist. The report does not describe a confirmed purchase.
The report also covered several separate stadium matters:

- New floodlights were reported to meet Championship broadcast standards while reducing light pollution.
- Around £10,000 of additional lighting was being installed around the West and East stands.
- Removal of the old floodlight towers was expected by summer 2027.
- Council-funded capital works were reported to include a new fire alarm system, refurbishment of the ticket office and offices, a pipework and drainage survey, fire doors, replacement boilers and wiring.
The club’s 2027 anniversary
Planning was developing around the club’s 2027 anniversary, with the home match against Stockport on 24 April 2027 described as a focal point. The board’s report said former players from promotion squads had been invited, and plans included a commemorative programme and an informal event at the Metrodome with a screening of Daydream Believers.
The club also had other plans for the Ozone space that were still to be announced. Separately, the Fan Advisory Board planned to explore a fan zone on the covered lower East Stand concourse. These were plans or exploratory work as reported in September 2026, not evidence that the events or spaces had been delivered.
