Neither figure is an official Aston Villa salary disclosure. A reliable current Villa wage for Philippe Coutinho could not be established, so there is no sound figure to quote for him.

The amounts for Digne and McGinn are estimates of gross weekly pay, not confirmed take-home pay. The July 2026 roundup attributes the figures to Capology and explicitly says they are estimates rather than official figures. bet365’s wage roundup and FBref’s 2025–26 wage table reproduce the figures.
Why Coutinho’s wage is unclear
The available evidence does not support a reliable current Villa salary for Coutinho, nor does it establish his club status on 7 October 2026. The Football Association’s agent transaction register records an Aston Villa contract amendment for him during its 4 February 2025 to 2 February 2026 window, but it gives no salary. That contract event is not enough to infer his wage or present club. The FA register is a record of transactions, not player pay.
What official records can—and cannot—tell you
The FA register also records updated contracts for Digne and McGinn in the relevant 2025–26 transaction window. It does not disclose their salary terms. Official contract records can establish that a transaction was recorded; they do not turn wage-table estimates into confirmed figures.

The Premier League’s summary of Aston Villa’s accounts for the year ended 30 June 2025 reports club revenue of £378.1 million and profit after tax of £17.0 million. Those are club-wide financial results, not individual player wages and not a basis for calculating them. The Premier League accounts summary says the figures relate to that financial year.

How to read football wage estimates
- Check the label: “estimated” or “unverified estimation” means the figure is not an official salary disclosure.
- Check the period: wage tables represent a season or a date-specific estimate, and may not reflect later contract changes or a player’s current club.
- Keep gross pay distinct from take-home pay: the cited figures are gross weekly estimates; they do not state after-tax income.
- Do not calculate an individual wage from club accounts: revenue, profit and club-wide wage costs do not identify what a particular player earns.
