You can pay a Pix QR code from an image saved on your phone using App BB: open Pix, choose “Ler um QR Code,” then select “Abrir da galeria” at the scan step. Check the recipient and payment details shown in the app before advancing and confirming with your password. Banco do Brasil documents this gallery option, but its help page does not say when it was introduced.
How to pay a Pix QR code from a saved image
BB’s documented flow uses an image of the QR code already saved on your phone. It does not describe making a payment from any arbitrary photo.
- Open App BB and access your account.
- Choose Pix from the home screen or menu.
- Select Ler um QR Code.
- At the scan step, either point your camera at the QR code or select Abrir da galeria to choose the saved QR-code image. BB’s help page says: “Aponte a câmera do seu celular para o QR Code que precisa ser lido ou selecione Abrir da galeria, se já tiver a imagem do QR Code salva.”
- Review the payment details displayed by the app, then tap Avançar.
- Confirm the information and enter the required password to finish.
Before confirming, check that the recipient and payment information shown in App BB match the payment you intend to make. The gallery option reads the QR code; opening an image does not, by itself, establish who sent it or guarantee that a payment is safe.
What to know about static and dynamic Pix QR codes
Banco do Brasil describes two QR-code formats. The amount and other transaction details depend on the code used.

These are distinctions in BB’s description, not a claim that one type is inherently safer than the other. When you scan either kind, use the details shown in the app to decide whether to proceed.
Is paying from an image a new Banco do Brasil feature?
BB’s help instructions confirm that App BB offers Abrir da galeria for a QR-code image saved on the phone. The page does not give an introduction date, and the available official material does not establish that the option was recently launched. Pix itself has a separate timeline: Banco Central do Brasil says it launched in February 2020 and became available to the public in November 2020. Those dates refer to Pix, not to BB’s saved-image workflow.

Pix availability and fees at Banco do Brasil
Banco do Brasil says Pix is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and that it is free for individuals and individual entrepreneurs at BB. This is BB’s general service guidance; it is not a detailed guarantee for every account or transaction type. Check the information displayed for your own transaction before confirming.
