What was the last date to apply for the 2,610 posts?
Scroll reported July 19, 2024, as the closing date for the application window described in its report published that day. That original headline referred to 2,610 vacancies across six post categories. The date was not the final opportunity for the recruitment cycle: Scroll later reported that BSPHCL reopened applications through October 15, 2024.

Why are there July and October deadlines?
The official JEE (GTO) notice initially set online registration for April 1–30, 2024, and said the computer-based examination was tentatively expected in May or June. Later changes to the recruitment timeline followed. Scroll reported a July 19 closing date for the window covered in its report, then reported on October 2 that applications had been reopened through October 15, 2024.
The original official notice does not document each intervening extension. The October reopening date and revised total below are therefore attributed to Scroll’s later report, rather than presented as details independently confirmed from an official extension order.

What changed in the later reported total?
Scroll’s October 2, 2024 report placed the total at 4,016 vacancies after the application window was reopened through October 15. That is a later reported figure for the recruitment cycle, not the number in the original July 19 headline. The available figures do not establish a revised post-by-post breakdown, so the six-category table above should not be treated as a breakdown of all 4,016 posts.
Is the BSPHCL 2024 application still open?
No. The July and October 2024 dates are past. BSPHCL’s recruitment listing now includes later-stage document-verification notices tied to some of the 2024 employment notices. Check that listing for official updates on those selections and any newer recruitment notices; do not rely on expired application dates.

What did the JEE (GTO) selection process involve?
The official JEE (GTO) notice described an online application followed by a computer-based test. Its syllabus covered general knowledge, logical reasoning, English and Hindi, computer basics, and technical material aligned with diploma-level engineering.
The electrical technical topics included circuits, electrical machines, power generation, transmission and distribution, power electronics, and switchgear and protection. A general electrical engineering diploma exam-preparation book could be an optional study aid for those technical topics, but the syllabus does not establish a BSPHCL-endorsed book or make any particular title a required application item.

What application fees were reported in July?
For the application window covered in Scroll’s July 19, 2024 report, the reported fee was ₹1,500 for Unreserved/EBC/BC candidates and ₹350 for SC/ST/PWBD/Female candidates. These are historical figures for that window, not current BSPHCL fees or a guide to fees for another recruitment notice.
