Applications for the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission’s 166 Assistant Engineer posts under the Arunachal Engineering Service Examination-2025 are closed. The original application window was scheduled to close before 5:00 pm on 8 June 2025; APPSC later listed an extension notice, but its revised deadline is not confirmed here. By February 2026, the recruitment had reached result notices for at least the Civil discipline.
What was the APPSC Assistant Engineer recruitment?
APPSC Advertisement No. APPSC/1/2025, issued on 9 May 2025, invited Indian citizens to apply for 166 Assistant Engineer posts in Arunachal Pradesh government work departments. The posts were part of the Arunachal Engineering Service Examination-2025. The advertised pay was Pay Matrix Level 10, ₹56,100–₹1,77,500, as stated in the APPSC advertisement.
The vacancies covered engineering roles in departments including Public Works, Public Health Engineering & Water Supply, Rural Works, Water Resources, Urban Development, Urban Local Bodies, Hydro Power Development and the Department of Power. The advertisement gives department- and discipline-specific allocations, including APST and PwBD reservation details; candidates should consult its vacancy table rather than assume a particular department or reservation subtotal.
What was the last date to apply?
The advertisement’s original online application window opened at 5:00 pm on 15 May 2025 and was to close before 5:00 pm on 8 June 2025. APPSC’s notice index later listed an item titled “Extension of Online Application Form for Arunachal Engineering Service Examination-2025.” Because the revised date is not confirmed by the available extension document, 8 June should be understood as the original deadline, not necessarily the final extended deadline. The application period has since ended.

- This refurbished product is tested and certified to work properly. The product will have minor blemishes and/or light scratches. The refurbishing process includes functionality testing, basic cleaning, inspection, and repackaging. The product ships with all relevant accessories, and may arrive in a generic box.
Applicants were required to complete One Time Registration (OTR) before filling in the online form; existing OTR users could sign in with their credentials. APPSC advised candidates to submit only one application. The original instructions and any extension or correction notices are available through the official APPSC notices.
Who was eligible?
The basic qualification was a B.E. or B.Tech degree in the relevant subject from a recognized university. The required engineering discipline depended on the post. The notification included civil engineering vacancies, agricultural engineering for specified civil posts, and electrical, mechanical, electronics and communication, and computer engineering for applicable technical posts. A degree in one of these branches did not automatically qualify a candidate for every vacancy; the post-wise eligibility table in the advertisement controlled.
Rank #2
The notice also specified a one-time upper-age relaxation: general-category candidates born on or after 1 January 1989 and APST candidates born on or after 1 January 1984 fell within the stated age criteria. Concessions for PwBD candidates and regular Arunachal Pradesh government servants were subject to applicable government rules. These were the terms of the 2025 notice, not a current application window.
How was selection structured?
The advertised selection route was a written mains examination followed by viva-voce. The notice also allowed APPSC to hold a recruitment test if applications exceeded the desired ratio.
Rank #3
Mains examination and viva-voce
- General Paper: 150 marks, objective, covering General English, General Studies and Aptitude.
- Two technical papers: 150 marks each, descriptive.
- Viva-voce: 50 marks.
The listed mains and viva-voce components totalled 500 marks.
Possible recruitment test
If required because of the number of applicants, the notice provided for a recruitment test comprising General Awareness and Logical Reasoning for 100 marks and a technical paper for 200 marks.
Rank #4
What is the recruitment status now?
This is no longer an open recruitment. APPSC’s notice index records recruitment-test results and answer-key material, mains updates, interview or viva-voce notices, and a final result notice for Assistant Engineer (Civil) dated 27 February 2026. That Civil result establishes progress for that discipline only; it should not be treated as the final outcome for all disciplines or all 166 posts. For any later discipline-specific results, appointments or corrections, check the APPSC notices index.
