No independently verified estimate of Asif Ali Zardari’s current net worth is established by the available sources. The latest specific figure located is Rs2 billion in assets declared in his General Election 2024 nomination disclosures, reported by The News International on February 26, 2025. That is a self-declared filing figure, not a current market valuation or an independently audited net-worth estimate.

What is Asif Ali Zardari’s net worth?

A reliable current net-worth estimate cannot be confirmed from the cited records. The best-supported recent figure is Rs2 billion in assets declared for the 2024 general election. The News International reported that amount, citing FAFEN data, and said Zardari declared no property outside Pakistan. The figure describes an election disclosure; it should not be read as a live valuation of everything he owns minus everything he owes. The News International’s February 26, 2025 report.

What the reported figures mean

These figures come from different filing periods and are not a consistent time series of net worth. The records do not establish that changes between them represent appreciation or depletion: the dates, definitions, valuation bases, treatment of liabilities, and disclosure types are not shown to be comparable.

Filing period Reported figure What it represents
General Election 2024 nomination disclosures Rs2 billion Assets declared by Zardari, as reported in 2025 by The News International citing FAFEN data. The report says he declared no property outside Pakistan.
2019 statement Rs676.87 million Assets in the ECP statement for 2019, as reported by Dawn in 2020. Dawn said Rs316.70 million was cash in hand.
2018 ECP disclosure Rs654 million net assets; Rs99 million overseas assets Historical figures summarized by The News International in its 2025 report. This is a separate disclosure period from the 2024 election nomination forms.

Why declared assets are not the same as net worth

A declaration is a filing, not an independent valuation. FAFEN says its database is based on annual asset and liability statements submitted to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), and that the records display self-declared cumulative worth of movable and immovable assets as well as liabilities for the relevant year. FAFEN also cautions that errors and omissions may occur and some statements may be unavailable or not digitized. FAFEN’s methodology and profile page.

That distinction matters when interpreting the Rs2 billion figure: it is reported as declared assets, not as a verified current net-worth calculation. The available reporting does not establish a comparable market valuation or provide a consistent basis for reconciling assets and liabilities across all the cited years.
