There is no verified current evidence here that Angelina Jolie owns a private jet. The best-supported description associates her with a Cirrus SR22-G2, a piston-powered propeller aircraft—not a turbine jet—and that identification comes from a secondary source rather than a checked FAA ownership record. A 2013 report said Brad Pitt bought her a private jet, but it relied on an unnamed source and did not establish what aircraft she owns today.
What plane is Angelina Jolie associated with?
AeroCorner’s June 26, 2026 article identifies Jolie’s aircraft as a Cirrus SR22-G2 and says she earned a pilot’s licence in 2004 or 2005. It describes the SR22-G2 as a single-engine, piston-powered propeller plane and explicitly distinguishes it from a turbine-powered private jet. These are the article’s claims, not confirmation of current ownership from an FAA record. AeroCorner’s account is useful context for the question “What plane does Angelina Jolie fly?”, but it does not establish that she owns the aircraft now.
Where did the private-jet claim come from?
In July 2013, India Today reported that Brad Pitt had bought Jolie a private jet. The story attributed that claim to an unnamed source speaking to Heat magazine; it did not identify a verifiable aircraft model or establish present-day ownership. Why a sighting or flight-tracker attribution is not proof of ownership
An aircraft can be privately operated without being personally owned by the celebrity seen aboard it. It may belong to a company or trust, be chartered or leased, or be used through a fractional arrangement. And even if a tracker associates an aircraft with a person, that does not prove the person was a passenger on any particular flight.
A September 2026 Los Angeles Times investigation described using public records requests and JetSpy to associate aircraft owing county taxes with well-known people. JetSpy said its approach combines public and private databases, aircraft filings, transmissions, and flight-pattern analysis. That kind of attribution can provide leads, but it is not direct observation of ownership or passengers; the Times also reported that many representatives it contacted declined to comment on the record. What FAA records can—and cannot—show
The FAA’s Aircraft Inquiry lets users search by fields including N-number, serial number, name, make or model, and engine. The registry page says its data is updated each federal working day, but it also notes that owners may request that certain personally identifying information be withheld from the public site. Registration searches therefore help identify aircraft; they are not a complete map of beneficial ownership, and a missing public name does not settle who ultimately owns or uses an aircraft. Celebrity roundups can help identify reported aircraft associations, but their labels and sourcing matter. CRAFT’s live roundup says it links reported aircraft types to source reports and excludes people reported only to charter, lease, or hold fractional shares. It also says its illustrations are not photographs of the named people’s actual aircraft. That makes it a starting point for checking claims, not a primary ownership record.
