The January 22, 2026 Arknights: Endfield payment incident involved a mismatch between some PayPal orders and the in-game items delivered—not a confirmed finding that the game randomly selected charge amounts. Hypergryph later said the issue affected 3,429 orders across servers, involving around 1,800 players. PayPal was disabled while the company investigated and said it issued refunds; a May 2026 notice later reported a limited regional restoration.

What happened with Arknights: Endfield payments?

At launch on January 22, players reported unexpected payment experiences, sometimes described as being charged random amounts. The initial official notice, quoted by GamesRadar, characterized the problem as an inconsistency between orders and item delivery. It affected a limited set of PayPal purchases through the official launcher and PayPal top-ups through topup.gryphline.com. The notice said PayPal payments had been disabled and refunds were being issued.

That description establishes a payment-and-delivery mismatch, not a detailed technical explanation for how individual amounts appeared on players’ accounts. Later coverage attributed the incident to a disconnect between PayPal and the game’s monetary infrastructure, but no detailed engineering postmortem is available in the cited coverage.

How many orders and players were affected?

On February 3, 2026, GamesRadar reported figures disclosed by Hypergryph: 3,429 affected orders across servers, involving around 1,800 players. Hypergryph put the total value at approximately $80,000 and said the highest single affected transaction was $5,289. These are publisher figures reported by a secondary outlet, not the result of an independent audit. GamesRadar’s February 3 report quoted Hypergryph saying it identified the affected transactions, issued full refunds to impacted players, and let affected players keep rewards they had earned. The report also said PayPal remained unavailable at that time while the company carried out testing and verification and added safeguards around third-party payment providers.

Those statements describe the company’s reported response; they do not independently verify the refund status of every individual account. If your own statement still shows a completed charge or you have not received a refund you expected, check the transaction with your payment provider and contact GRYPHLINE support with the purchase details.

Is PayPal available for Arknights: Endfield now?

GRYPHLINE’s official May 23, 2026 notice said PayPal service resumed in certain regions as of May 20 at 11:00 GMT+8. The notice listed Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Hong Kong SAR, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Philippines, Poland, Qatar, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, and the United States, followed by “etc.” It did not establish worldwide availability or provide a definitive current list.

GRYPHLINE said PayPal was enabled only for the countries and regions listed during that restoration phase. If the PayPal icon does not appear at checkout, your region may not be included. Availability can vary by region, so use the payment options actually shown for your account rather than assuming the service is available everywhere.

What to do if a payment looks wrong or an item is missing

First identify the transaction’s status and where you made the purchase. A pending or authorized entry may be a temporary pre-authorization rather than a completed charge. For missing items, the official instructions depend on the payment channel.

Check whether the transaction is pending or completed

The official payment FAQ says a statement entry marked Pending or Authorized may be a pre-authorization and not an actual charge. It advises contacting your bank to release the hold. If the entry is completed, or you see a charge you do not recognize or believe is duplicated, contact the payment provider and GRYPHLINE support rather than assuming the incident’s historical refund covered your transaction.

For official website or PC-client purchases

The FAQ notes that some payment methods used on the official website or PC client may have processing delays. Check the order and account status before trying to pay again; an additional attempt could create another transaction.

For Google Play or iOS purchases

Log into the game on the same device used for the top-up, then select the purchased item to activate the order. The FAQ says not to attempt payment again while resolving a missing delivery.

For PlayStation Store or Epic Games Store purchases

Use the FAQ’s platform-specific account-linking and storefront launch checks. If those steps do not resolve the issue, contact the platform that processed the payment or GRYPHLINE support.

For Steam purchases

A September 2026 Steam playtest FAQ says purchases in that playtest use payment methods supplied by Steam and can be viewed and used on other platforms when logging into the same Gryphline account. This guidance is specific to the described Steam playtest and its account and server conditions; it should not be treated as a general rule for every platform or purchase.

Contact support with useful details

GRYPHLINE’s official notice directs players to Settings > Platform & Account > Contact Customer Support. The September 2026 Steam playtest FAQ also lists [email protected] for account, payment, or client problems and asks players to include their UID, server, device details, and relevant screenshots or recordings.
