A “metropolis.com” charge may be related to Metropolis parking, but the descriptor alone cannot confirm that you or someone authorized to use your card made the purchase. Metropolis says parking charges can appear as “METROPOLIS” or “METROPOLIS PARKING,” followed by the city. Check the charge against a receipt, parking visit, or subscription before deciding what to do.
How to check a metropolis.com charge
- Note the transaction details. Record the exact descriptor, amount, and date. If your card issuer shows both pending and posted transactions, note which status applies.
- Look for a receipt or visit record. Check texts, email, and your Metropolis account. The company says its text receipt includes the location, duration, and amount, and that account history includes visits and receipts. Metropolis membership and FAQ
- Compare the visit details with your activity. Consider parking, valet, or facility visits, including a visit where the parking operator’s name differed from the venue. - Check for a recurring subscription. If the charge repeats, look for a monthly parking subscription and its receipt. Why Metropolis may charge a card
At participating camera-enabled locations, Metropolis says its system can recognize a vehicle and charge the payment method on the account when the parking visit ends. At scan-to-pay locations, the driver starts a session using a QR code, can extend it before it expires, and is charged through the account’s payment method when the selected session ends. Metropolis’s terms say a parking transaction authorizes charges for that transaction and applicable service fees. Fees may vary by location and are disclosed at the time of the transaction. For account, technical, or payment support, Metropolis directs drivers to its Help Center. Its Terms of Service also list [email protected]. Provide the transaction date, amount, exact descriptor, and any potentially related location or receipt so the company can help identify the activity. Contact your card issuer if it remains unrecognized
If no visit, account activity, or subscription fits—or you doubt that the charge was authorized—contact your card issuer using its official app or the number on your card. Ask how to report an unauthorized transaction or dispute a charge. The descriptor alone cannot establish whether a specific transaction is legitimate or fraudulent.
