Airbus delivered 73 commercial aircraft in September 2025 and had delivered 507 from January through September. Against the company’s then-current target of around 820 for the year, that left 313 deliveries to go. The figure was a dated snapshot—not Airbus’s final target or year-end result.
What did “313 more” mean?
It was the difference between Airbus’s 2025 delivery target at the time and its year-to-date total: around 820 targeted minus 507 delivered through September equals 313. The 73 aircraft delivered in September were included in the cumulative 507; they were not an additional figure. Airbus reported the September monthly tally, while its 29 October nine-month results confirmed the cumulative total and reiterated the around-820 target. Airbus’s nine-month results provide the company’s dated figures.
How did Airbus’s target and result change?
| When | Figure | What it meant |
|---|---|---|
| September 2025 | 73 delivered that month | Monthly delivery tally, reported contemporaneously by Air Data News and Reuters via TradingView. |
| Through September; target reiterated 29 October | 507 delivered; around 820 targeted | The snapshot that produced the 313-aircraft gap. |
| 3 December 2025 | Target lowered to around 790 | Airbus cited a supplier quality issue affecting A320 Family fuselage-panel flow. See its target update. |
| 2025 full-year result | 793 delivered | Airbus exceeded the revised target by three aircraft. Its full-year results, released 19 February 2026, reported the final total. |
Why did the target change?
On 3 December, Airbus lowered its target from around 820 to around 790 after a supplier quality issue with fuselage panels affected the A320 Family delivery flow. The original 313-aircraft gap therefore should not be carried forward as though the target stayed unchanged. The full-year announcement later reported 793 deliveries, 4% more than the 766 delivered in 2024.
What did Airbus deliver in 2025?
Airbus’s final 2025 total of 793 commercial aircraft comprised 93 A220s, 607 A320 Family aircraft, 36 A330s and 57 A350s. By comparison, the company’s September 2025 cumulative total was 507: 62 A220s, 392 A320 Family aircraft, 20 A330s and 33 A350s. The September results also listed a commercial backlog of 8,665 aircraft at 30 September; that backlog is a count of orders awaiting delivery, not a delivery target.

How should the September figure be read?
Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury described deliveries in the nine-month results as remaining “backloaded amid a complex and dynamic operating environment.” That is Airbus’s characterization of the delivery profile, not an independently verified explanation for every delay. The company separately identified the fuselage-panel supplier quality issue when it lowered guidance in December.
