On October 14, 2015, Keiretsu Forum Northwest announced it would acquire the assets of Seattle angel-investor group ZINO Society, with ZINO founder Cathi Hatch set to become president of Keiretsu Forum Northwest’s Seattle chapter. The announcement followed ZINO’s closure announcement the week before. It describes a historical deal, not a confirmation of either organization’s current structure or leadership.
What the 2015 announcement said
GeekWire reported that Keiretsu Forum Northwest was acquiring ZINO Society’s assets. The report did not disclose financial terms. Hatch, who founded ZINO, was named to lead Keiretsu Forum Northwest’s Seattle chapter as its president.
The timing mattered to ZINO members: the acquisition announcement came one week after ZINO had announced its closure. The report said Hatch had personally funded ZINO in partnership with its original investors for 10 years; that duration was her description, not an independently audited operating statistic.
What ZINO members were meant to gain
Hatch said the arrangement would give ZINO investors access to Keiretsu Forum’s deal flow and collaborative due diligence. GeekWire quoted her saying, “This deal will allow ZINO Society investors to have access to the extensive Keiretsu Forum network of high quality deal flow and due diligence collaboration.”

She also described the expected combination of ZINO’s community with Keiretsu Forum’s systems and support resources as an opportunity for the combined angel community. Keiretsu Forum Northwest president Sherry Calvert, in turn, said Hatch’s skills would benefit the organization’s entrepreneur and investor community. These were the parties’ stated expectations; the announcement did not report measured results or comparative performance.
Keiretsu Forum figures reported at the time
GeekWire’s October 2015 account gave the following contemporaneous figures. They describe what the publication reported then, not present-day totals:
| Item | Figure reported in 2015 |
|---|---|
| Keiretsu Forum chapters | 39 |
| Keiretsu Forum members | 1,500 |
| Keiretsu Capital co-investment and opportunity fund | $6 million |
| Keiretsu Capital investments that year | $2.5 million invested in 22 early-stage technology companies |
The source did not establish whether those figures continued after 2015, nor does it verify the Seattle chapter’s current leadership or organization structure.

This was an acquisition announcement and leadership appointment during a transition for a Seattle angel-investor group. It is useful as a record of the intended access and organizational support for ZINO investors, but it does not establish later outcomes, financial terms, or current availability of any membership or investment opportunity.
