Amazon announced the benefit for eligible team members in 2024 and still lists free Prime among eligible employees’ benefits in its September 2026 announcement. That does not establish that every hourly warehouse worker qualifies: Amazon’s public materials do not spell out Prime-specific eligibility by job class or employment status.
What Amazon says about the free Prime benefit
Amazon announced on September 18, 2024, that Prime would become part of its benefits package starting in early 2025. The company’s stated terms are that eligible U.S. team members receive Prime without additional cost for as long as they remain part of Amazon. In the announcement, Udit Madan, Amazon’s senior vice president of Worldwide Operations, said: “Eligible team members in the U.S. will get Prime at no additional cost for as long as they are a part of the Amazon team.” Amazon’s announcement

Does every hourly warehouse worker qualify?
The public announcement centers on U.S. operations and hourly employees, but its wording is limited to “eligible” team members. It does not publish a Prime-specific list of qualifying jobs, scheduled hours, or employment categories. So the public information supports a qualified yes—not a guarantee that every warehouse employee, seasonal worker, or temporary worker is covered.

- Hours and class: Amazon says benefits may vary by scheduled hours, but the public Prime announcements do not identify qualifying schedules or employee classes.
- Tenure and job status: Amazon’s general benefits guidance names length of employment and seasonal or temporary status as possible factors; it does not say how those factors apply specifically to Prime.
- Continued employment: The announced terms say the benefit lasts while an eligible employee remains part of Amazon’s team.
How to check your own eligibility
Use your current internal Amazon benefits information or ask Amazon HR to confirm whether your role and employment status qualify. The public sources reviewed do not provide a Prime enrollment walkthrough or account-linking instructions, so do not assume a particular app path, activation date, or sign-up process.

What is not established publicly
Amazon’s cited public materials do not state a Prime-specific annual dollar value, participation or usage rate, or detailed eligibility rules for each job class. The 2026 announcement’s figures about other pay and benefit changes do not measure the value or use of the Prime membership. Treat the benefit as employer-provided access for eligible employees, rather than assigning it a dollar value Amazon has not published.
