Alec and Hilaria Baldwin’s Amagansett farmhouse was first listed for $29 million in September 2022. That was an asking price—not a reported sale price or a verified estimate of what the property is worth today. Realtor.com’s 2026 coverage later reported an $18.99 million ask after several listing changes.
Here’s what published coverage says is on the property, what remains only a proposed possibility, and how its asking price changed over time.
What does Alec Baldwin’s Hamptons home look like?
The property is in Amagansett, on Long Island’s East End. Realtor.com’s March 2025 feature describes it as an eight-acre property with a 10,000-square-foot farmhouse. Those are published figures, not independently verified measurements.
Coverage describes a large home with covered porches and balconies, plus interiors and amenities that include a home theater, wine room, and wood-paneled library. Outside, reported features include a pool and spa, pavilion, and vegetable garden.

In a clip from The Baldwins discussed in the 2025 feature, Alec described the property as a second home: “This house is our vacation home, second home, pool. It’s a big house, and it works great.” That comment offers a glimpse of how the family uses the house, rather than an appraisal of its size or value.

Realtor.com’s reported timeline shows multiple listing changes. The property’s $29 million figure was the initial ask in 2022; later prices were lower. The reported purchase price is $1.75 million, though coverage differs on the year: Realtor.com’s 2026 timeline gives March 1996, while its 2025 feature recounts Alec’s on-camera recollection of buying it in 1995.

| Date or period | Reported event | Price |
|---|---|---|
| March 1996, per Realtor.com’s 2026 timeline | Reported purchase. The outlet’s 2025 feature instead recounts Alec’s recollection that he bought it in 1995. | $1.75 million |
| September 2022 | First reported listing | $29 million asking price |
| January 2023 | Reported price reduction | $24.9 million asking price |
| January 2024 | After removal and relisting, the reported ask reached this amount | $18.99 million asking price |
| After a July 2026 removal | Realtor.com reported a fifth listing returned at this amount | $18.99 million asking price |
The later figure is a reported asking price, not evidence that a buyer paid that amount or that it represents the property’s current market value. Listing status and price can change; the latest retrieved report describes the property’s return after a July 2026 removal, so readers should verify an active listing before relying on that status.
What explains the repeated listings?
Realtor.com’s 2026 coverage quotes Jenny Lenz, managing director of Dolly Lenz Real Estate, describing the location as “not considered prime for most buyers” and the house as “quite dated for the current market.” Those are Lenz’s opinions, not an independent appraisal or a proven explanation for every listing change.

The available reporting does not establish a current appraised value or provide a broader Hamptons market statistic that would make the home’s asking prices a market benchmark. A meaningful comparison with another property would need to account for location, existing condition, current asking price and listing status, usable land, and which development options are actually approved.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What the $29 million headline does—and does not—mean
The headline’s number identifies the farmhouse’s first reported asking price, not a completed transaction. The reported later ask was substantially lower, while the home’s present value is not established by the cited listing coverage. Its best-known features—such as the theater, wine room, pool, and garden—are reported amenities; the tennis court, guest house, and other planned additions are possibilities rather than confirmed additions.
