Airbus delivered about 60 aircraft in August 2025, according to a contemporary Reuters report citing industry sources and analysts. That approximate tally left the manufacturer needing a record delivery pace in the remaining months to reach its roughly 820-aircraft goal for the year. It was a warning about the challenge—not proof that Airbus would miss the target.
What Airbus’s August 2025 delivery tally showed
Reuters reported an August total of about 60 aircraft, characterizing it as an estimate from industry sources and analysts rather than a final official count. Airbus’s stated 2025 goal was around 820 deliveries, a target 7% higher than the 766 aircraft it delivered in 2024. Reuters reported the estimate and target on September 1, 2025.
The August number mattered in relation to the year-end goal: analysts said Airbus would need a record pace in the remaining months to get there. One month’s approximate tally, however, cannot establish whether the company ultimately met its annual target.
Why deliveries were difficult to accelerate
The constraints Reuters identified were delays in engines and cabin equipment. Aircraft manufacturers depend on a coordinated flow of components and completed cabin installations; a delay in either can hold up an aircraft’s delivery even when other parts of production are ready. The report did not quantify how many aircraft were affected by each constraint.

Why delivery timing matters financially
Aircraft deliveries are more than a production milestone. As Reuters explained, they determine when Airbus recognizes revenue and generates cash, while also affecting airlines’ plans to expand or renew their fleets. A delayed handover can therefore complicate the manufacturer’s financial performance and an airline’s operational planning.
What this report does—and does not—establish
The September 2025 Reuters report is a snapshot of the challenge Airbus faced at that point in the year. Its estimate of about 60 August deliveries should not be presented as an official final count, and the report does not show whether Airbus eventually achieved its roughly 820-aircraft goal.
