Which Aldi products are being compared with Olaplex?
The comparison usually concerns Lacura shampoo and conditioner. Product naming and the range differ by market: Aldi’s U.S. listing calls its shampoo “Lacura Bonded,” while Aldi Reviewer covers “Lacura Bond Repair” shampoo and conditioner. UK coverage describes a Lacura Bonded range that also includes a pre-wash treatment. These names and products should not be taken to mean every market has the same range or formula.
The pre-wash treatment is a separate product, often discussed alongside OLAPLEX No. 3. It should not be confused with comparisons between Aldi shampoo or conditioner and OLAPLEX shampoo or conditioner.
Is Lacura an Olaplex dupe?
“Dupe” is best understood here as a lower-priced product in a similar hair-care category—not proof of identical ingredients or performance. Aldi Reviewer says the Lacura and OLAPLEX ingredient lists differ and cautions that the products may not be exact dupes. OLAPLEX’s official Bond Repair Haircare Starter Set page describes its own Bond Technology and lists bis-aminopropyl diglycol dimaleate among ingredients in its formulas. That brand description is not evidence that Lacura uses the same technology or repairs hair in the same way.

No controlled, matched test comparing Lacura with OLAPLEX is established in the available sources. Similar packaging, product category, or social-media comparisons cannot establish equivalent chemistry or outcomes.

What does Lacura cost, and can you find it?
In the U.S., ALDI’s product listing shows Lacura Bonded Shampoo in an 8.5 fl oz bottle for $4.99; it was marked out of stock when accessed. Local availability can differ. The live listing is at ALDI’s Lacura Bonded Shampoo page.
Aldi Reviewer reports that the U.S. shampoo and conditioner were each sold in 8.5-ounce bottles for $4.99 during reported appearances in late January and the week of August 5, 2026. The reviewer describes them as limited-time Aldi Finds, so those dates and prices are historical context, not a promise of current stock or price. UK coverage also reports on the range, but its prices are historical and should not be treated as current UK pricing.

Aldi Reviewer’s author says they bought and used the products; a January 2026 update says they worked about as well as other brands for that reviewer, but did not work miracles. Refinery29 UK also recounts its writer’s personal experience with the UK range, including a favorable subjective impression of the conditioner. These are individual experiences, not controlled efficacy tests or representative consumer research.

Refinery29’s older coverage reproduces TikTok posts about the Aldi range. One embedded post reads: “My personal review of the new Aldi Olaplex Dupe – ill keep you updated on I get on over time to – what do we think?” That is one post’s transcription, not evidence of a broader audience verdict.
OLAPLEX reported 30.4 million views for #OLAPLEXDUPE in a September 29, 2023 campaign announcement. The figure belongs to that hashtag and date; it is not a view count for Aldi’s Lacura products and does not establish a current TikTok trend.

If you want an inexpensive shampoo or conditioner and find Lacura in your local Aldi, its price may make it worth considering as a budget option.
