CRN describes Casati as an executive chairman in its ranking headline, but says he served as CEO of Growth Markets during the fiscal year and stepped down from that role effective September 1, 2022, then becoming executive chairman of Growth Markets. The later title should not be read as his fiscal-year role.
What “total compensation” includes
Accenture’s 2022 proxy statement filed with the SEC on December 13, 2022 presents the named executives’ compensation under SEC disclosure rules. Its Summary Compensation Table separates salary, bonus, stock awards, non-equity incentive plan compensation, pension and deferred-compensation items, and all other compensation.

That presentation is broader than salary and should not be interpreted as cash paid during the year. In particular, stock awards are reported as equity-plan awards in the disclosure table; the table’s total is not a measure of salary received or cash deposited in fiscal 2022. CRN’s article includes some component-level statements that appear inconsistent with its stated totals, so the ranking totals above are presented as CRN reports them, while the proxy is the source for the categories and accounting presentation.
Currency affects comparisons
Not all executives’ compensation originated in U.S. dollars. The proxy says Ollagnier’s base compensation and fiscal 2022 Global Annual Bonus were converted from euros using 0.90221, the average of monthly translation rates for Accenture’s fiscal year. CRN reports that Casati, based in Singapore and compensated in Singapore dollars, was converted at 1.36296 using average monthly fiscal-year translation rates. These conversions matter when comparing the reported dollar totals across executives.

Fiscal-year context
Accenture’s fiscal 2022 ended August 31, 2022, so the ranking covers a company fiscal year rather than the January-to-December calendar year. CRN reported Accenture fiscal 2022 revenue of $61.6 billion, operating cash flow of $9.5 billion, free cash flow of $8.8 billion, and bookings of $71.7 billion. It also reported a workforce of 738,000 employees and 9,000 clients in 120 countries. These are company-scale figures reported by CRN, not independent measures of executive performance or explanations of individual compensation.
