Marc Mero’s reported 2019 WWE royalty statement showed $39,590.81 in revenue he said he was partly responsible for—and a $71.47 royalty payment. Those are figures from one former wrestler’s individual statement, not a published WWE royalty rate or a guide to what wrestlers generally earn.
What Marc Mero said his royalty statement showed
F4WOnline reported on January 21, 2026, that Mero shared an old WWE royalty statement from 2019. In a passage reproduced by the outlet, Mero said: “On this statement, even after being out of wrestling for over two decades, I was still partly responsible for $39,590.81 in revenue. My royalty payment for that? $71.47.”
The report does not identify the accounting categories behind the revenue figure or explain how the amount attributed to Mero was determined. It also does not provide the contract terms, deductions, or calculation method behind the payment. The two figures therefore describe different things in the reported statement; they do not, by themselves, establish a royalty percentage.
What the example can—and cannot—tell you
Mero introduced the disclosure by saying, “I’ve been asked many times what wrestlers actually make in royalties from the WWE, so let me give you a real example.” The example answers that question for one reported statement, not for the wrestling workforce as a whole.

- Fan Favorites! WWE action figures bring Superstars to life in 6-inch scale.
- TrueFX Technology! Each figure is detailed with a life-like face for added collectability.

- Play and Display! Reenact favorite WWE Main Event matches or create new rivalries and moves.
- Super Collectible! WWE fans can find their favorite Superstar figures (each sold separately, subject to availability).
- It gives two amounts attributed to Mero’s individual 2019 statement: $39,590.81 in revenue and a $71.47 royalty payment.
- It does not establish the royalty terms of Mero’s contract, how WWE calculated the payment, or whether other statement periods would show the same figures.
- It cannot establish a standard WWE royalty rate, typical wrestler earnings, or Mero’s total income.
Mero also characterized the figures as a broader reality for wrestlers, saying compensation “rarely reflects the value that was created.” That is his assessment, not a conclusion demonstrated by the single statement described in the report.
Why the timing matters
F4WOnline reports that Mero worked for WWE from 1996 to 1999 and identifies him as a former WWE Intercontinental Champion. The document he discussed was from 2019, years after his WWE departure; it was not a contemporaneous account of his pay while wrestling for the company.

What remains unclear
F4WOnline’s account is secondary reporting of Mero’s social-media post. The report does not provide the statement’s line items, the period covered, the currency, any deductions, or the contractual and accounting rules used to reach the payment. Without those details, readers should treat the figures as a reported example rather than evidence of a general formula.
