Aldi advertised its bladeless Design Fan for £39.99 in seasonal UK promotions in 2024 and 2025, but the available sources do not establish that it is on sale now. Its listed features may suit a child’s bedroom, but they do not show that the fan is independently quiet, keeps a room at a safe temperature or is certified for unattended overnight use. NHS advice is to circulate room air without pointing a fan directly at a child.
What Aldi’s £39.99 fan offers
Aldi has used both “Design Fan” and “Bladeless Fan” for this seasonal Specialbuy. In its 30 May 2025 announcement, Aldi said the fan would return to stores from 5 June, while stocks lasted, for £39.99. The retailer listed three speeds, Normal, Nature and Sleep modes, remote and touchpad controls, seven LED colour choices and a 70° oscillation range. Aldi described its stated noise level of 56 dB as “whisper quiet”; that is the retailer’s claim, not an independent noise test. Aldi’s 2025 announcement
Aldi’s 30 May 2024 launch announcement also gave a £39.99 price, with the in-store launch dated 6 June. It listed three speeds, 56 dB stated noise, remote and digital touchpad controls, 60° left/right swivel and fan speed up to 1,250 RPM. These, too, are retailer specifications rather than independently verified measurements. Aldi’s 2024 announcement
Aldi’s Week 23 leaflet lists a timer, fixed and oscillating functions, up to 70° swivel, remote, seven-colour LED lighting and a free three-year warranty. Its offer panel says “In store THUR 5 JUNE”; the leaflet’s year is not independently confirmed in the available listing, so treat the warranty and features as leaflet claims rather than evidence of a current offer. The cited sources provide no model number and do not establish present availability. “Bladeless” describes the product design; it does not, by itself, establish a child-safety certification.
Is it suitable for a child’s room overnight?
A fan can help circulate air, but NHS guidance says not to aim it directly at a child because this could make them dehydrated. For babies, the NHS describes a sleeping-room temperature of 16°C to 20°C as comfortable. These are general recommendations, not an endorsement of this Aldi model or a promise that it will keep a room within that range. NHS guidance on keeping babies safe in the sun

The NHS also says electric fans can help when the temperature is below 35°C and recommends checking room temperatures, particularly for people at higher risk. A fan is not a substitute for monitoring a child or responding to signs of heat illness. NHS heatwave guidance
The product information cited here does not establish independent airflow or noise performance, durability, formal child-safety certification, or whether Aldi recommends leaving this model running unattended overnight. Do not infer those qualities from the retailer’s feature list or from its bladeless construction.

What to check before buying
- Availability and price: £39.99 was the advertised price in dated seasonal promotions, not a confirmed current price. Check Aldi’s current listings or local store before making a trip.
- Controls that matter to you: The 2025 listing includes three speeds, three modes, a remote, touch controls and 70° oscillation; Aldi’s leaflet also lists a timer. Confirm the exact features on the product packaging if you find a unit, because seasonal listings can differ.
- Noise and overnight operation: Treat 56 dB as Aldi’s stated figure, not an independent measurement. The cited sources do not provide an independent test or model-specific overnight-use guidance.
- Warranty terms: The leaflet advertises a free three-year warranty, but check the warranty documentation for the product and offer period you are considering.
How it compares with a Dyson fan
“Dyson-style” is a resemblance shorthand, not evidence that the products perform alike. Aldi’s cited material gives a £39.99 promotional price, 56 dB retailer-stated noise and up to 70° oscillation; its leaflet advertises a three-year warranty. Dyson’s UK Cool CF1 product page lists a sleep timer and maximum fan-speed power use of 30 W. These are different published specifications, not a controlled head-to-head test, and the sources do not establish comparable cooling performance or noise. Dyson Cool CF1 product page
