Third-party trackers estimate Adam Wharton’s Crystal Palace wages at £45,000–£48,000 a week for 2026–27, compared with Salary Sport’s estimate of £3,500 a week at Blackburn Rovers in 2023. Those figures suggest a substantial increase, but neither club’s reviewed announcements disclose his salary, and the trackers do not agree on his Palace pay.
Adam Wharton’s estimated salary at each club
The figures below are database estimates, not confirmed contract terms. Weekly wage means the estimated gross amount per week; annual salary is the tracker’s corresponding estimate, not confirmed take-home pay.
| Club and period | Estimated weekly wage | Estimated annual salary | Source and qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Crystal Palace, 2026–27 | £45,000 | £2,340,000 | Capology lists estimated gross fixed salary, excluding bonuses; it says its figures are estimates, not official disclosures. |
| Crystal Palace, 2026 and 2027 | £48,000 | £2,496,000 | Salary Sport gives these estimates for the relevant years. |
| Blackburn Rovers, 2023 | £3,500 | £182,000 | Salary Sport estimate for 2023; it should not be treated as his wage for every season at Blackburn. |
The Palace estimates are not interchangeable: Capology’s 2026–27 figure is £45,000 a week, while Salary Sport lists £48,000 for 2026 and 2027. Salary Sport also lists £48,000 for its 2025 season. Because the providers’ season labels and estimates differ, keep each figure tied to its source and period rather than presenting one exact Palace salary.
Are Wharton’s wages officially confirmed?
No salary figure appears in the reviewed club and transfer announcements. Blackburn Rovers announced on 12 September 2022 that Wharton had signed a five-year contract through June 2027, but did not state his pay. The club said: “We are delighted to announce that rising Rovers star Adam Wharton has signed a new long-term contract with the club.” (Blackburn Rovers.)

BBC Sport reported that Crystal Palace signed Wharton from Blackburn on 1 February 2024 on a five-and-a-half-year deal. It reported an initial transfer fee of £18 million, potentially rising to £22 million with add-ons, and 51 Blackburn appearances in all competitions. Those contract and transfer details do not establish his wages. (BBC Sport.)
What the club comparison can—and cannot—show
Salary Sport’s 2023 Blackburn estimate and the later Palace estimates point to a large difference between the two club periods. But this is a comparison of third-party estimates from different seasons, not verified pay slips or a confirmed contractual raise. The annual amounts are the providers’ estimates; they are not separately confirmed figures.

Capology describes its salary estimates as gross fixed pay and excludes bonuses, so its annual number is not a take-home-pay figure. The reviewed announcements do not resolve the gap between Capology’s and Salary Sport’s Palace estimates, so Wharton’s exact current contractual wage remains unconfirmed in these sources.
