The best-supported published estimate of Adam Armstrong’s Southampton wage was £60,000 gross per week, or £3.12 million a year. That is not an official salary: Southampton did not disclose his pay, and another outlet reported a higher estimate of £85,000 per week. A later FA transaction record lists Armstrong as permanently transferred out of Southampton, so these are historical estimates—not his current wage.
What was Adam Armstrong’s estimated Southampton wage?
The RealEFL reported a gross weekly estimate of £60,000 and an annual estimate of £3,120,000 in July 2025, attributing its statistics to Capology. FBref’s 2024–25 Southampton wage table, which also uses Capology data, lists the same amount and explicitly labels it an “Unverified estimation.” The agreement between those listings makes £60,000 the better-supported published estimate, but it does not make the figure a confirmed contract term.
Southampton’s official announcement of Armstrong’s three-year contract extension in July 2024 said he would remain at the club through 2027, but did not disclose his salary. The club announcement confirms the contract extension, not the reported wage.
How do the published wage estimates compare?
| Source and date | Weekly estimate | Annual estimate | What the source establishes |
|---|---|---|---|
| FBref, 2024–25 Southampton wage table, using Capology data | £60,000 | £3,120,000 | Marked “Unverified estimation.” FBref |
| The RealEFL, 18 July 2025; comparison dated 17 July | £60,000 gross | £3,120,000 | Attributes its statistics to Capology. The RealEFL |
| Sporty Salaries, 26 August 2024, for 2024–25 | £85,000 | £4,080,000 | A materially higher secondary estimate. Sporty Salaries |
The estimates differ by £25,000 per week. They should not be averaged: the sources do not disclose a shared methodology or the underlying contract, so there is no sound basis for treating their midpoint as a better estimate.

- Estimated: Capology-based listings give £60,000 per week, while Sporty Salaries reported £85,000 per week for 2024–25. Neither is an official salary disclosure.
- Not established: The sources do not provide Armstrong’s executed salary terms, bonus schedule, image-rights income, or a verified split of wages during his loan. The RealEFL reported that West Brom paid £30,000 weekly during the second half of 2024–25, but its suggestion that Southampton paid the remainder is speculation, not a confirmed figure.
