CriptoRobot Review: Scam or Legit Broker?

CriptoRobot is not sufficiently verified to call it a legitimate broker. Learn how to check its legal operator, FCA status, custody arrangements and withdrawal claims before depositing.

Verdict: treat CriptoRobot as unverified and high risk, not as an established UK broker. I could not verify enough independently attributable information to establish that “CriptoRobot” is a regulated broker, a recognised investment firm or a safely operated trading platform. That does not prove it is a scam, but it is more than enough reason not to deposit money until the exact legal entity, regulatory status, custody arrangements and withdrawal process have been confirmed.

The name also appears to describe a crypto-trading robot or automated strategy rather than a conventional broker. A trading bot may connect to an exchange through API keys, while a broker holds client money and executes orders. Those are different business models with different risks and protections.

What is CriptoRobot?

CriptoRobot is presented as a crypto or automated-trading service, but a brand name alone does not identify the legal operator. Before considering an account, find the following details on the platform’s legal and contact pages:

  • the full legal name of the company;
  • its company-registration number and country of incorporation;
  • a verifiable registered office;
  • the regulator and licence or registration number it claims to hold;
  • the exchange or broker that actually holds the money and crypto;
  • the legal entity named in its terms and conditions; and
  • a working withdrawal and complaints process.

If these details are missing, hidden behind a login, or supplied only by a salesperson, do not treat CriptoRobot as a regulated broker. A polished dashboard, trading algorithm, celebrity endorsement or claimed success rate is not evidence of authorisation.

Is CriptoRobot FCA authorised?

For a UK customer, the first check is the FCA Financial Services Register. Search the exact legal company name, trading name, website domain and any licence number shown by CriptoRobot. Do not rely on a screenshot or a link supplied by the promoter.

The FCA Register can confirm whether a firm is authorised and what regulated activities it may perform. It can also reveal whether the regulator has published a warning or historic information about the firm. A company being listed on Companies House is not the same as being authorised to provide investment services.

There is an additional complication with crypto businesses. FCA registration for UK cryptoasset anti-money-laundering purposes is not the same as full investment-firm authorisation and does not mean that the FCA has approved the trading strategy, profitability claims or safety of customer funds. Check exactly what permission is held and whether it covers the service being offered.

If CriptoRobot claims to be based outside the UK, check the regulator in that jurisdiction as well as the FCA. An overseas registration does not automatically give a UK customer Financial Ombudsman Service or Financial Services Compensation Scheme protection.

Why automated crypto trading is risky

“Automated” does not mean safe. A bot can place orders quickly, but it cannot remove the risks of the market or the platform running it. Common failure modes include:

  • Market losses: a strategy can lose money rapidly during a sharp price move.
  • Leverage: margin or leveraged products can create losses larger than the initial deposit.
  • Bad back-testing: a profitable historical simulation may exclude fees, slippage, outages and losing periods.
  • Overfitting: a system can be tuned to past data and fail in live markets.
  • Exchange risk: if the connected exchange freezes withdrawals or fails, the bot cannot protect the assets.
  • API-key abuse: an API key with trading or withdrawal permission can expose an account to theft.
  • Liquidity risk: a bot may be unable to close a position at the advertised price.
  • Software and security failures: outages, coding errors or compromised accounts can interrupt trading.

Claims such as “guaranteed daily returns”, “risk-free AI profits”, “no-loss trading” or a fixed monthly percentage are major warning signs. Legitimate investment firms cannot guarantee returns from volatile crypto markets.

Warning signs that a CriptoRobot offer may be a scam

Warning sign Why it matters
Unsolicited WhatsApp, Telegram or social-media contact Scammers commonly move prospects into private messaging, where claims and payment instructions are harder to verify.
Pressure to deposit immediately Urgency prevents independent checks and encourages decisions made under pressure.
Payment to a personal bank account or unrelated crypto wallet The recipient may not be the legal operator and recovering funds can be difficult.
Requests for remote-access software Screen-sharing or remote-control tools can expose banking credentials and one-time codes.
Withdrawal requires a “tax”, “unlock fee” or “security deposit” This is a classic advance-fee pattern. Paying often produces another demand rather than a withdrawal.
Profits visible only inside the platform dashboard An internal balance is not proof that assets exist or can be withdrawn.
Fake regulator details or copied firm information Clone firms can copy a genuine company’s name, address and registration number while substituting their own website or phone number.
No clear legal operator or customer-support address You cannot properly assess who owes you money or where to complain.

How to check CriptoRobot before depositing

  1. Copy the exact domain. Check every letter in the address bar. Do not use a sponsored search result or a link from a message.
  2. Read the terms and privacy policy. Identify the contracting company, governing law, dispute process and where client funds are held.
  3. Search the FCA Register. Match the legal name, website, telephone number and permissions. A regulator number without a matching record is not evidence.
  4. Check the FCA warning list. Search for CriptoRobot, the domain, phone numbers and the legal operator. Also search the regulator in the claimed home country.
  5. Check Companies House if the business claims to be UK-based. Compare the registered address and directors, but remember that incorporation does not equal financial authorisation.
  6. Ask how custody works. Determine whether your crypto remains on your own exchange account, whether the bot has withdrawal permission, and which entity controls the wallet.
  7. Test a small withdrawal before increasing exposure. Never regard a successful deposit or a displayed profit as proof of legitimacy. Do not pay an extra fee to release funds.
  8. Use a separate email and strong authentication. Restrict API permissions to trading only, disable withdrawals if the exchange allows it, and never disclose passwords or one-time codes.

Does CriptoRobot have FSCS or Financial Ombudsman protection?

Do not assume so. Cryptoassets are generally not covered by the FSCS in the way eligible bank deposits or certain regulated investments may be. A crypto trading bot also does not become protected merely because it connects to a regulated exchange.

Financial Ombudsman Service eligibility depends on the firm, service and circumstances. An overseas or unauthorised operator may fall outside the scheme. Confirm the position with the relevant regulator and read the contract before sending money.

Even where a regulated platform is involved, compensation schemes do not cover ordinary losses caused by a cryptocurrency price falling, a bad trading strategy or poor bot performance.

What to do if you have already paid

  1. Stop sending money and stop communicating through the promoter’s links.
  2. Contact your bank or card provider immediately and explain that you may have been defrauded. Ask whether a payment recall, card dispute or fraud procedure is available.
  3. If crypto was sent, preserve the wallet address, transaction hash, exchange records and screenshots. Do not pay a “recovery agent” promising to retrieve it.
  4. Change passwords from a clean device, beginning with email and banking accounts, and revoke suspicious exchange API keys or connected applications.
  5. Report the matter to Action Fraud in England, Wales or Northern Ireland, or Police Scotland via 101.
  6. Report the website and promoter to the FCA if they appear to be offering regulated financial services without permission.

CriptoRobot: legitimate broker or scam?

On the information that can be independently established, CriptoRobot should not be treated as a verified legitimate broker. The appropriate conclusion is unverified/high risk, rather than an unsupported claim that every service using the name is fraudulent.

The burden is on the operator to prove who it is, what it is authorised to do, where customer assets are held and how withdrawals work. Until those points match independent regulator records and a clearly identified legal entity, prospective customers should not deposit money or grant trading access to an exchange account.

FAQ

Is CriptoRobot a scam?

There is not enough independently verified information to establish that CriptoRobot is a legitimate regulated broker. That does not prove criminal fraud, but the service should be treated as unverified and high risk until its legal operator, regulatory status and withdrawal process are confirmed.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Can CriptoRobot guarantee profits?

No legitimate crypto-trading service can guarantee profits from volatile markets. Guaranteed returns, fixed daily profits and claims of risk-free AI trading are serious warning signs.

Should I pay a fee to withdraw CriptoRobot profits?

Be very cautious. An unexpected tax, release charge, insurance payment or security deposit demanded before withdrawal is a common advance-fee fraud pattern. Contact your bank and the relevant regulator instead of sending more money.

How do I verify a crypto broker in the UK?

Search the exact legal entity, trading name, domain and permissions on the FCA Financial Services Register. Check the FCA warning list and Companies House separately. Companies House registration alone does not authorise a firm to provide investment services.

Is crypto held through CriptoRobot protected by the FSCS?

Do not assume it is. Cryptoassets and automated crypto strategies generally do not receive the same protection as eligible bank deposits or certain regulated investments. Protection depends on the specific firm, product and service.

The Bottom Line

Bottom line: CriptoRobot is not sufficiently verified to call it a legitimate broker. Avoid depositing funds unless the exact operator appears on the appropriate regulator’s records, the website and contact details match those records, custody is clearly explained, and a small withdrawal works without an additional payment. Never share banking credentials, one-time codes or unrestricted exchange API keys with an unsolicited promoter.
