Is the Cash App settlement deadline still open?
No. The official Cash App Security Settlement website says the deadline to submit a claim was November 18, 2024, and late claims are no longer accepted. The case is Salinas, et al. v. Block, Inc. and Cash App Investing, LLC, Case No. 22-cv-04823. The court granted final approval on March 27, 2025.

Payments from this class action are for approved claims. If you did not submit a claim by the deadline, the administrator’s notice does not provide a way to file one now.
Was a $2,500 Cash App payout guaranteed?
No. “Up to $2,500” referred to a possible maximum associated with qualifying documented losses. It was not a flat payment for every user, and the official settlement website does not promise that each claimant will receive $2,500. Any distribution depends on claim approval and settlement administration.

The official administrator page confirms the closed claim process, but does not state a guaranteed individual payment amount. Do not treat a headline or social-media post promising every Cash App user $2,500 as an official payment notice.
How is the CFPB matter different from the class action?
The class action and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s action against Block are separate proceedings. The class action was court-approved and required a timely, approved claim for a settlement distribution. The CFPB matter is a regulator’s enforcement order with its own consumer-redress process.

In its January 16, 2025 press release, the CFPB said: “Consumers will not need to take action at this time to obtain redress.” That statement concerns the CFPB’s separate order, not a way to reopen the closed class-action claim process. Use the settlement administrator’s official contact details rather than a link in an unsolicited message. The administrator lists its website and phone number, 1-866-615-9740, on its contact page. Ask about a payment only if you submitted a claim and need to verify its status.
