Jon Collins-Black’s treasure hunt is a five-box search across the United States, with clues published in his book There’s Treasure Inside. Its reported prizes include Bitcoin and rare Pokémon cards, alongside gold, antiquities, sports memorabilia and other valuables. The hunt is not a verified way to earn money: buying the book gives readers the clues, not a guarantee of finding a box or recovering a prize.
What is Jon Collins-Black’s treasure hunt?
Collins-Black, a Bitcoin investor, created the hunt and wrote There’s Treasure Inside. The official hunt site describes five treasure boxes hidden across the United States, with no more than one box in any state. It says Collins-Black spent nearly five years acquiring the items, placing the boxes and writing the book.
The project launched in 2024. Cybernews reported on it on November 25, 2024, followed by The Independent on December 1, 2024. Those reports offer launch-era context, not a complete inventory or independent appraisal.
What is hidden in the Bitcoin treasure hunt?
The official site names broad prize categories rather than publishing a complete, item-by-item inventory. They include:

The Independent reported examples such as shipwreck gold doubloons, rare Pokémon cards, a Michael Jordan rookie card and a physical Bitcoin. These are reported examples, not proof of the complete contents of every box.
Collins-Black says he personally spent “well over two million dollars” acquiring the items. That is his reported spending, not an independently assessed current value of the prizes. The official FAQ says the collection’s true total value is impossible to calculate; no reviewed source establishes a complete independent appraisal. In particular, Bitcoin and collectible-card prices can change, so the reported spend should not be read as a current guaranteed payout.

What book has the treasure hunt clues?
The clue book is There’s Treasure Inside by Jon Collins-Black. The official FAQ says: “All the clues you need to get within a decent proximity of each treasure box are inside the book.” News coverage may describe the hunt and some reported contents, but it is not a substitute for the full clue material. Retail availability, price and edition can vary; check the seller’s current listing before buying.
Buying the book does not ensure a find. The site describes clues that lead hunters near the boxes, not a guaranteed recovery or financial return.

This is the creator’s reported awareness, not independent verification of every search, and the status may change. Check the official site for the latest announcement.
