There is no single best website for every entrepreneur: the right choice depends on whether you need reliable business guidance, news, a founder community, a course, professional connections, or an operating tool. U.S. founders looking for small-business counseling can start with the SBA resource-partner locator and SCORE; people seeking startup events may look to Startup Grind, while LinkedIn can support professional outreach. The 45 sites below are a directory, not a universal ranking: check each resource’s current activity, geographic relevance, cost, and fit before relying on it.
How to choose a website for your business
Start with the job you need done, then weigh the site’s authority and incentives. An official agency may be the right place to check U.S. assistance; a publication can provide context; a community can offer peer perspectives; and a course or software vendor sells a product you should evaluate on its own merits.
- Need and stage: Are you validating an idea, launching, finding customers, hiring, or scaling?
- Geography and eligibility: Counseling, funding, laws, and local events vary by country and location.
- Format and depth: Choose between articles, mentoring, a structured course, a discussion forum, an event, or software.
- Cost and access: Check whether advice is free, mentoring is low-cost, or a course, membership, event, or software plan requires payment.
- Specificity: A general small-business resource may not address a SaaS company, creative business, or industry-specific issue.
U.S. small-business guidance and mentoring
U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA)
The SBA resource-partner locator connects U.S. business owners with local support, including Small Business Development Centers, SCORE, Veterans Business Outreach Centers, and Women’s Business Centers. The SBA says it and its partners offer free or low-cost counseling, resources, training, and export assistance. Its business guide covers market research, business plans, startup costs, credit, funding, and buying a business or franchise. These services and rules are U.S.-specific; readers elsewhere should look for their country’s official small-business agencies.
SCORE
SCORE organizes resources by business stage, topic, industry, and entrepreneur group, and says its mentors provide free personalized advice. In a March 25, 2025 release, SCORE reported that it had helped more than 17 million entrepreneurs since 1964 and had 10,000 volunteers across all 50 U.S. states and territories. These are SCORE’s organizational figures, not an independent audit. Its CEO, Bridget Weston, said, “Starting a new business can be overwhelming. But you don’t have to go it alone.”

Startup advice and specialist communities

Where can entrepreneurs connect?
Startup Grind
Startup Grind describes support from bootstrapped stages through Series A through community, content, events, membership, and opportunities to connect with founders, investors, and partners. Its website reports more than 5 million entrepreneurs, 100+ countries, 300+ chapters, and 125+ monthly events. Those are Startup Grind’s own figures, accessed October 4, 2026, not independently audited reach or a promise of access to investors. The organization describes its ethos this way: “We believe in making friends, not contacts.”
LinkedIn offers small-business resources on finding clients, marketing, hiring, and courses, alongside optional paid tools such as Sales Navigator, Ads, and Premium All-in-One. Its page reports that “18M+” small businesses use LinkedIn to grow, citing LinkedIn data from 2025; this is a company-reported figure, not an independent adoption survey. Paid features and trial terms can change.

Where do entrepreneurs get money?
Common routes include personal savings, loans, investors, grants, and crowdfunding, but availability and eligibility depend on country, business type, stage, and lender or program rules. A directory listing is not an offer of funding. U.S. entrepreneurs can use the SBA business guide and a local resource partner to understand funding options and prepare; readers elsewhere should check official local programs and applicable rules.

Which website is best for business?
Choose by task rather than by a single overall ranking: use SBA and SCORE for U.S. small-business support; Startup Grind or Meetup for community and events; LinkedIn for professional reach; publications for news; course platforms for structured learning; and operating tools for a defined workflow. The 45-site directory is adapted from a HostAdvice article dated January 14, 2026, which groups resources by use but does not establish a neutral comparative score or show that using a particular site causes business growth. HostAdvice also names Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy, and Hostinger for different website-building needs; those are the publisher’s recommendations, not an independently established verdict.
