These four compact Harbor Freight tools suit very different jobs: a mini roller for small paint surfaces, a six-piece pliers set for precision work, a short shovel for small digging tasks, and a rechargeable flashlight for portable illumination. Their review scores below are snapshots reported by SlashGear in an article published in 2025 and updated in 2026—not live Harbor Freight ratings—so check each current listing before buying.
Four mini tools, compared by task

| Pittsburgh Precision Pliers Set | Gripping or cutting small parts in tight work areas | Six pieces: end nippers, diagonal cutters, needle-nose, long-nose, bent-nose, and flat-nose pliers | None | 4.5 out of 5 from more than 390 reviews |
| One Stop Gardens 27 in. Round Nose Mini Shovel | Small garden jobs or a compact car emergency kit | Blade: 5⅞ inches wide by 8 3/16 inches long; fiberglass laminate handle: 19⅝ inches | None | 4.9 out of 5 from more than 1,000 reviews |
| 80 Lumen Rechargeable 12V Compact Mini LED Flashlight | Portable light for a vehicle or other place with access to a 12V outlet | Compact flashlight with COB LEDs | Charges from a standard 12V outlet; reported runtime is up to three hours | 4.7 out of 5 from more than 1,000 reviews |
The scores and review counts are those reported by SlashGear, which did not provide an exact date for capturing them. They are not independently verified current retailer data. SlashGear also said each of its picks had at least 4.4 out of 5 based on dozens of reviews; that overall statement is likewise a dated snapshot. SlashGear’s roundup and its Pittsburgh Precision Pliers Set coverage are the sources for the listed specifications and rating snapshots.
Which tool matches your job?
For touch-ups and small paint surfaces: the mini roller kit
The kit includes the basic pieces for rolling paint on a small area: a tray, handle, and 4-inch high-density cover. Its short roller is suited to detailed work such as trim or bannisters rather than painting a large wall quickly. The threaded handle can attach to an extension pole, which may help reach a higher spot without changing to a full-size roller.
For small parts and tight spaces: the precision pliers set
This is the most task-specific precision option in the group. The six shapes offer different ways to grip or cut small items; the SlashGear article describes the tools as having drop-forged construction, serrated jaws, double-injected PVC handles, and spring returns. Those features and the range of jaw shapes are more relevant to choosing this set than its compact appearance alone.
#1 Best Overall

- STORES CONVENIENTLY – This well-organized kit comes in a compact durable plastic carrying case that fits anywhere in your home, apartment, garage, or even the car. Carrying Case Dimensions: 8.25 x 4.5 x 1.75 inches, Color: Black
- GENERAL USES – 6-piece tool set is designed to tackle most assembly, repair projects, or little emergencies around the house or office. Fixing leaky kitchen or bathroom faucets, hanging up pictures, or tightening up a loose screw on your bike, this tool set has everything you will need from hammering, screwing, measuring, and more.
- SET INCLUDES – 6" Flathead Screwdriver, 6" Phillips Screwdriver, 4oz. Hammer, 5" Tweezers, 5" Long Nose Pliers, 3 ft Measuring Tape
For compact digging: the mini shovel
The shovel has a 19⅝-inch handle and a blade measuring 5⅞ inches wide by 8 3/16 inches long, according to SlashGear. That scale points to small garden tasks rather than extensive digging. Its compact dimensions also make it a candidate for storage in a car emergency kit, if it suits the space and use you have in mind.
For vehicle-accessible light: the rechargeable flashlight
The name says “80 Lumen,” but SlashGear reports that the product description specifies 75 lumens at up to 30 feet. Those are two different claims; the available information does not explain the discrepancy, so it should not be silently treated as a single confirmed output figure. The article says the COB LED flashlight charges from a standard 12V outlet and provides up to three hours of light.

What to check before buying
- Match the scale to the task. The roller covers a 4-inch width, the pliers are intended for small-part work, and the shovel has a short handle and small blade. Compact size is useful only when it fits the job.
- Check what is included. The roller kit includes a tray, handle, and cover; the pliers set includes six named tools. Do not assume accessories beyond those described.
- Account for charging access. The flashlight requires a standard 12V outlet to charge, which is a practical constraint if you intend to keep it away from a vehicle.
- Verify the current listing. Prices, stock, product details, and review totals can change. The rating figures above are SlashGear’s snapshots, not current ratings confirmed here.
