Realtor.com identifies it as 888 Lilac Drive and reports that its original asking price was $33.5 million—not the price Harry and Meghan paid for their own residence. Realtor.com later reported that the property sold for $25.95 million on April 21, 2026.
Which Montecito mansion appeared in the series?
The filming property is 888 Lilac Drive, a Spanish-style estate in Montecito, California. Realtor.com identified it as the docuseries’ central filming location in a May 2026 report. The Sacramento Bee likewise reported in January 2023 that the series was filmed mostly at a Montecito mansion about four miles from where the couple actually lived.
Descriptions of the house differ slightly by publication: Realtor.com reported 13,600 square feet in 2026, while Forbes described it as 13,599 square feet in 2023. Those are published property descriptions, not measurements independently verified here. (Realtor.com; Forbes)
What does the $33.5 million figure mean?
It was the property’s original asking price, not a purchase price paid by Harry and Meghan. Realtor.com reported that 888 Lilac Drive first came to market for $33.5 million in August 2021, was relisted for $29.99 million in April 2024, and sold for $25.95 million on April 21, 2026. These are the listing and sale figures reported by Realtor.com; the sale price is not the Sussexes’ home cost.

How is it different from Harry and Meghan’s home?
The couple’s residence is a separate Montecito property. The Los Angeles Times reported in August 2020 that they bought that estate for $14.65 million, citing real-estate sources and property records. The Times described their home as a seven-acre property with a roughly 14,500-square-foot main house, nine bedrooms, and a two-bedroom guesthouse. Those details belong to the Sussexes’ residence, not 888 Lilac Drive.
The distinction matters when comparing prices: $14.65 million was the reported 2020 purchase price of the couple’s home; $33.5 million was the original asking price of the filming mansion in 2021. The reported $25.95 million sale in 2026 also refers to the filming mansion, not the Sussexes’ property. (Los Angeles Times)

What was the filming mansion like?
Historical coverage described 888 Lilac Drive as a large Mediterranean-style estate with extensive grounds and entertainment amenities. Forbes’ January 2023 account called it a 13,599-square-foot, six-bedroom home on two acres, with ocean and mountain views. Its reported features included terraces, arched windows, a great room with a large chandelier, a pool, hot tub, bar, gym, game room, theater, and guest house. Forbes also listed vegetable beds, a citrus orchard, banana trees, and a chicken coop.
The Sacramento Bee’s January 2023 report additionally described a colonnade overlooking the pool, a wood-paneled library, fireplaces, meditation and massage spaces, and a dining room with a silver-leaf ceiling. These are details reported in past property coverage, not the findings of a current inspection. (Forbes; The Sacramento Bee)
Why do published bedroom counts differ?
Realtor.com’s 2026 report lists four bedrooms and six bathrooms for 888 Lilac Drive, while Forbes described the property as having six bedrooms in 2023. Because the counts conflict, neither should be treated as a settled, current room inventory without further property-record confirmation. The figures refer to the filming mansion, not the Sussexes’ separate home.
