Eleven companies stood out in TechCrunch’s June 13, 2025, coverage of Y Combinator’s Spring 2025 Demo Day. They ranged from AI software for small businesses and enterprises to chip design and computing infrastructure. The phrase “investors are talking about” reflects the article’s reporting, not a ranking, funding tally, or evidence of market-wide consensus.

What the roundup covers

TechCrunch reporter Marina Temkin described a Spring 2025 cohort in which nearly every presenting startup had an AI connection. The coverage also noted a cluster of “Cursor for X” concepts and a thread of robotics companies. The eleven businesses below address different buyers and problems, so they are best understood as a snapshot of the batch rather than direct competitors.

Which 11 YC startups drew attention?

Anvil

TechCrunch described Anvil as SEO for large language models: a tool intended to help brands measure and improve how they appear in AI products such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity. Those capabilities are attributed to the company as reported by TechCrunch.

Atum Works

Atum Works is developing three-dimensional chip designs by stacking transistors. TechCrunch also reported an investor comparison to “the next Nvidia”; that is an opinion, not a technical assessment or an established prediction.

Zero to One: Notes on Startups, or How to Build the Future
  • If you want to build a better future, you must believe in secrets.
  • The great secret of our time is that there are still uncharted frontiers to explore and new inventions to create. In Zero to One, legendary entrepreneur and investor Peter Thiel shows how we can find singular ways to create those new things.

Auctor

Auctor automates enterprise software implementation. TechCrunch reported the company’s claim that SAP, ServiceNow, AWS, and Box had reached out about its solution; the report does not independently establish the scope or outcome of those conversations.

Cactus

In the 2025 Demo Day coverage, Cactus was presented as an AI copilot for solopreneurs that could answer calls and accept payments. Its current Y Combinator profile instead describes it as an AI growth partner for trades and home-service businesses, with call answering, lead qualification, and booking. The descriptions reflect different points in the company’s positioning, not necessarily an unchanged product.

The current profile also displays company-reported customer examples: a North Carolina roofing company with “$299K collected in 10 weeks” and a “$1.41M pipeline created,” and a Utah plumbing and HVAC company with “$180K confirmed revenue in 4 months.” These are profile examples attributed to Cactus, not independently verified or representative market statistics. See Cactus’s Y Combinator profile.

Den

Den pitched an AI product for enterprise knowledge workers, proposing company-specific agents as a way to replace or augment tools such as Slack and Notion. That is the company’s proposition as reported by TechCrunch; it is not evidence that Den has demonstrated a successful replacement.

Eloquent AI

Eloquent AI automates customer operations. TechCrunch gave financial-services examples including unfreezing customer accounts and adding drivers to insurance policies. The article also reported the company’s claims about deployment speed and a large seed round; neither should be read as a general guarantee about implementation time or financing.

LLM Data Company

LLM Data Company offers tools for evaluating AI agents and reinforcement learning. TechCrunch reported that the startup said it was working with customers including Perplexity; that customer relationship is presented as a company-reported claim.

Scalar Field

Scalar Field was described as an AI-powered financial data terminal. Co-founder Amandeep Singh summed up the product ambition this way: “Terminals are dashboards and not thinking tools.” The quote expresses Singh’s view of what financial-data products should become.

Sim Studios

Sim Studios builds an open-source AI agent builder. TechCrunch named Epiq, Mercore, and the U.S. Department of Defense while describing users and examples; those references should be understood in the context of the report, not as an independently verified assessment of adoption or deployment scale.

Sygaldry

Sygaldry was described as building quantum-accelerated AI servers for training and inference. TechCrunch noted that co-founder and CEO Chad Rigetti is associated with Rigetti Computing. The connection does not establish the performance or commercial maturity of Sygaldry’s proposed quantum-computing capabilities.

Vybe

Vybe is a vibe-coding application builder. TechCrunch reported that one unnamed investor called it a “clear winner.” The investor was not identified, so the remark is a single reported opinion rather than a named endorsement or consensus.

How to compare the companies

The names span several kinds of business, and “AI startup” alone is not a useful basis for comparison. A clearer first pass is to ask who would use each product and what job it is meant to do.

Company Primary buyer or user described Product or task described
Anvil Brands Measure and improve visibility in AI tools
Atum Works Chip-design and semiconductor ecosystem; specific buyer not stated in the report Three-dimensional chip design using stacked transistors
Auctor Enterprises Automate software implementation
Cactus 2025 pitch: solopreneurs; current YC profile: trades and home-service businesses AI assistance for calls and payments in the 2025 coverage; current profile emphasizes calls, lead qualification, and booking
Den Enterprise knowledge workers Company-specific agents intended to replace or augment workplace tools
Eloquent AI Customer-operations teams, including in financial services Automate service workflows such as account or policy changes
LLM Data Company AI developers and teams; specific buyer not stated in the report Evaluate AI agents and support reinforcement learning
Scalar Field Financial-data users; specific buyer not stated in the report AI-powered financial data terminal
Sim Studios Organizations and developers building agents; specific buyer not stated in the report Open-source AI agent builder
Sygaldry AI training and inference users; specific buyer not stated in the report Proposed quantum-accelerated AI servers
Vybe People building applications; specific buyer not stated in the report Vibe-coding application builder

The list also mixes software with hardware ambitions: Atum Works is focused on chip design, while Sygaldry describes computing infrastructure. Those are different development and deployment contexts from a software product such as Anvil or Vybe. The report offers short descriptions and attributed claims, not a uniform evaluation of product maturity, customer outcomes, or independent validation. For a financial or business decision, investor attention is therefore a prompt to investigate—not a substitute for checking what a product does, who is using it, and what evidence supports its claims.

Why these startups are notable as a group

AI agents and tools for building or evaluating them recur across the batch: Den proposes company-specific agents, Sim Studios offers an agent builder, and LLM Data Company focuses on agent evaluation and reinforcement learning. Other companies apply AI to narrower business tasks, while Atum Works and Sygaldry point toward semiconductor and computing infrastructure. The shared AI theme does not mean they solve the same problem or face the same risks.

This is a historical look at Y Combinator’s Spring 2025 Demo Day, not a list of startups from a current 2026 cohort. The TechCrunch coverage captures what was presented and reported at that time; it does not establish how each company or product has developed since.
