Skybound Games and 11 bit studios announced a $99.99 physical collector’s edition of Frostpunk 2 for PC in August 2024. It combines a Steam code for the Deluxe Edition and digital extras with a numbered box of physical collectibles. It is separate from the Icebreaker and Whiteout console editions announced in 2025, and past prices do not confirm today’s availability or terms.
What the Skybound partnership included
Skybound Games announced the PC Special Edition on August 7, 2024, with preorders through its online store and a stated global shipping scope. The announcement listed September 20, 2024, as the PC game’s release date. Those are launch details, not confirmation of current stock or shipping coverage. Skybound’s announcement
The $99.99 launch price was for a physical collector’s box containing a Steam code—not a PC game disc. The code entitled the buyer to the Deluxe Edition and its listed digital content:
- The base game and three post-release DLCs.
- An exclusive in-game item.
- The digital novella Warm Flesh.
- A digital artbook and soundtrack.
The physical contents were an individually numbered box, a multi-layered LED shadow box, one of two embroidered faction patches assigned at random, a metal-and-enamel keychain, two art postcards, and stickers. Skybound’s product page describes the shadow box as 10 × 12 inches, with integrated lighting powered by batteries or USB. Its page displayed $99.99 when checked for this article; price, inventory, and sale terms can change. Skybound’s PC Special Edition product page

Rank #2
- THIS IS AN EXPANSION TO FROST PUNK THE BOARD GAME. This is not a standalone game. You will need the Frost Punk Base Game in order to play with this expansion.
- POST-APOCALYPTIC SURVIVAL GAME: In Frostpunk, players will take on the role of leaders of a small colony of survivors in a post-apocalyptic world that was hit by a severe ice age. Their duty is to effectively manage both its infrastructure and citizens.
- STRATEGY BOARD GAME: Make the Laws, send out expeditions to uncover the fate of humanity in the frozen wastes, face the consequences of your actions in front of those you swore to protect.
- DREADNOUGHT EXPANSION: A deluxe upgrade to one of Frostpunk's most challenging scenarios, this expansion contains 1 plastic Giant Dreadnaught miniature that can be used to immerse yourself deeper into the game. This expansion is purely of aesthetic nature and does not in any way influence the mechanics of the game.
- NUMBER OF PLAYERS AND AVERAGE PLAYTIME: This board game is designed for 1 to 4 players and is suitable for ages 16 and older. Average playtime is approximately 120-150 minutes.
Where to check availability and what to verify
Skybound’s product page is the cited official listing for the PC Special Edition. Check that page directly for current stock, price, shipping destination, and terms; an earlier global-shipping announcement does not guarantee that a particular order can now be placed or delivered to a particular location. For Icebreaker or Whiteout, confirm the platform, edition name, seller, region, and current price with the retailer before ordering. The cited sources do not verify Amazon inventory or affiliate listings.
What happened with delayed PC preorders
Before Advanced Access began on September 17, 2024, Skybound posted that some physical PC Special Edition preorder copies were delayed. Its notice said affected customers would receive an emailed Steam key for the Deluxe Edition so they could play at Advanced Access, and instructed them to use that emailed key rather than the code in the box. This was a remedy for affected historical orders; it does not establish the status of any current order or individual customer case. Skybound’s customer notice
What the announcement does—and does not—establish
Skybound Managing Partner Ian Howe described the collaboration as an effort to create a distinctive physical edition, saying he was a Frostpunk player, a Captain, since the first game’s release in 2018
and had rallied the team to visualize an exceptional edition. The announcement documents the partnership and listed contents, but the cited official sources provide no attributable sales total, customer-response figure, or total PC box run size.
