PSG described HotForex as its “Official Online Trading Partner” for a second consecutive season. This was a renewal, not the start of the relationship or a publicly disclosed multi-year sponsorship.
The agreement was a branding and marketing event. It did not change HotForex’s trading terms, regulatory obligations, fees, or the risks of forex and CFD trading. Those details had to be assessed separately by clients and prospective customers.
What HotForex and PSG actually announced
HotForex announced the renewal, and Paris Saint-Germain described the company as an official partner for a second consecutive season. The renewal followed the original partnership announced on November 16, 2020, covering the 2020–21 season.
In the 2021 announcement, PSG said the companies would continue engaging clients and football supporters through activities and educational initiatives connected with online trading and football. HotForex expected to create new fan activations and continue educating people about investing.

The announcement did not publish:
- the sponsorship fee;
- the precise signing date;
- a contract term beyond the 2021–22 season;
- geographic exclusivity;
- specific LED-board placements;
- the number of player appearances or hospitality tickets.
A club partnership can provide brand exposure without revealing the commercial terms or changing the underlying financial product.

The chronology rules out the claim that HotForex first became a PSG sponsor in 2021. The first agreement was announced in 2020; the 2021 announcement was the renewal.
What rights were associated with the relationship?
The original 2020 partnership announcement provided more detail than the 2021 renewal notice. It said HotForex could use PSG and player assets, receive stadium exposure in selected world regions, and access digital-content opportunities through PSG’s official social networks. It also referred to VIP tickets, exclusive gifts, and events for HotForex clients.

Those were details of the original partnership framework. They should not automatically be presented as benefits newly added by the 2021 extension. The renewal announcement referred more generally to club-related assets, fan engagement, and educational initiatives.
For a personal-finance reader, the practical point is straightforward: a football partnership is advertising. The presence of a trading brand beside a major club is not evidence that the broker is suitable, safe for every investor, or profitable to use.
What the sponsorship did not prove
The renewal did not establish that:
- HotForex offered guaranteed returns;
- forex or CFD trading was appropriate for beginners;
- the broker’s fees or spreads were the lowest available;
- client losses were protected by PSG;
- the partnership constituted regulatory approval;
- the deal ran through 2022, 2023, or a later year.
Forex and CFDs are leveraged products. Leverage can magnify gains, but it can also magnify losses quickly. Before opening an account, a customer should check the legal entity providing the service, its regulator, the applicable investor-protection rules, withdrawal conditions, margin requirements, and the broker’s current risk warning.
Why some reports give August 12 as the date
Some syndicated articles date the announcement to August 12, 2021. That date appears on a separate HotForex release distributed through PRNewswire. PSG’s own newsroom article is dated August 4, 2021, the appropriate date when referring specifically to the PSG announcement.

The difference appears to reflect separate publication or distribution dates, not two separate renewals.
HotForex is now HFM
HotForex should not be described as the company’s current brand without qualification. On May 2, 2022, HF Markets said the HotForex brand was evolving into HFM. The company described the change as a brand evolution and said it did not alter the company or clients’ access to its websites and trading platforms.
That rebrand does not turn the 2021 PSG announcement into an HFM sponsorship announcement. The historical agreement was announced under the HotForex name.
Who is PSG’s current online-trading partner?
PSG announced WeTrade as its global online-trading partner in August 2025 under a multi-year agreement running through 2028. HotForex should not be described as PSG’s current official online-trading partner unless a newer, independently documented agreement is found.

The accurate description is that HotForex held and renewed a PSG partnership for the 2021–22 season, after which the brand evolved into HFM and PSG later announced a separate relationship with WeTrade.
How to assess a broker independently of sponsorships
- Identify the legal entity. A global brand may operate through several companies, each with different regulators and protections.
- Verify the regulator. Use the regulator’s own register rather than relying only on a broker’s website or a club partnership.
- Read the risk warning. Pay attention to the percentage of retail CFD accounts that lose money and to the treatment of leverage.
- Compare the full cost. Review spreads, commissions, overnight financing, conversion charges, deposit fees, and withdrawal rules.
- Test account access cautiously. Confirm identity checks, funding methods, customer support, and withdrawals before committing significant money.
- Use only money you can afford to lose. A sponsorship, logo, or celebrity association is not a substitute for due diligence.
