How to compare the real cost
Start with the turbo trim’s price, not the headline starting MSRP
For the Kona and Trailblazer, the cited starting price is for the model, not a confirmed price for the turbo-equipped configuration. The same distinction matters for the CX-30, where the published base MSRP is substantially below the starting price of the turbo range. Ask a dealer for the exact trim, drivetrain and destination-inclusive window sticker when comparing quotes.
Compare like with like
- Confirm that each vehicle actually has the turbo engine in the trim being priced; some models also sell non-turbo versions.
- Match drivetrain before comparing fuel economy. The Trailblazer’s 31 mpg combined estimate is specifically for the turbo with FWD.
- For the CX-30 turbo, account for the fuel grade associated with the output figure: Mazda publishes different horsepower and torque on 87- and 93-octane fuel.
- Use dealer quotes for a current budget. MSRP is a manufacturer suggested price, not a guarantee of a transaction price.
Does the Nissan Rogue qualify?
The 2025 Nissan Rogue has a standard 1.5-liter VC-Turbo engine across its grades. Nissan’s press kit lists an S FWD suggested list price of $28,590, effective April 1, 2025. That price is for the named S FWD configuration, but the Rogue is a larger compact SUV rather than a clear fit for a small or subcompact roundup. Why this is not a ten-model list
A 2025 subcompact-SUV comparison names vehicles such as the Buick Envista, Subaru Crosstrek and Volkswagen Taos, but that alone does not verify their turbo availability or turbo-trim pricing.
