The Associated Press reported Sunday studio estimates of $21.3 million for the returning Four Horsemen and $17 million for the Stephen King adaptation.
Who won the November 14–16 box office weekend?
Lionsgate’s Now You See Me: Now You Don’t finished first in North America, ahead of Paramount’s The Running Man. The “Horsemen” in the headline are the returning magicians from the Now You See Me franchise.
| Film | Weekend result | Reporting basis |
|---|---|---|
| Now You See Me: Now You Don’t | $21.3 million; first place | Associated Press report of Sunday studio estimates for Friday–Sunday, November 14–16, 2025 (AP) |
| The Running Man | $17 million; second place | Associated Press report of Sunday studio estimates for Friday–Sunday, November 14–16, 2025 (AP) |
Those figures were estimates reported on Sunday, not the later final weekend listings. Box Office Mojo lists The Running Man’s November 14–16 opening at $16,495,564 across 3,534 theaters, also placing it second (Box Office Mojo). The difference reflects distinct reporting stages: the AP figure was the contemporaneous studio estimate, while the database figure is a later listing.
How did The Running Man perform after opening?
In its second weekend, November 21–23, the film earned $5,719,864 and ranked fourth, a 65.3% decline from its opening-weekend listing, according to Box Office Mojo (Box Office Mojo). That shows a sharp week-to-week drop, but the weekend figures alone do not establish why viewers chose one movie over another.

What do the film’s total gross and budget say?
The Numbers lists The Running Man with theatrical grosses of $37,815,641 domestically and $68,564,778 worldwide, alongside an estimated $110 million production budget (The Numbers). These are different measures: worldwide box-office gross is not the studio’s take-home revenue, and production budget does not account for every marketing, distribution, or financing cost. The figures therefore do not establish a precise profit or loss.
Which Running Man is this?
The 2025 film is the second adaptation of Stephen King’s novel, first published in 1982. Edgar Wright directed and co-wrote the new adaptation, according to the Associated Press (AP). The novel is the source material, not a guarantee that the book and film tell the story in exactly the same way.
