How much does a Sam’s Club membership cost?
Sam’s Club lists annual prices of $60 for Club and $120 for Plus on its current membership benefits page. The price change took effect May 1, 2026, according to Axios’s March 31, 2026 report on the company’s announcement.

What changed for Plus members?
The annual maximum for Plus Sam’s Cash increased from $500 to $750, as reported by Axios. The current benefits page describes the reward as 2% Sam’s Cash on qualifying in-club purchases, up to that annual cap. The cap is a limit, not a guaranteed payment: the amount earned depends on eligible spending and current program terms.

What do Club and Plus include?
Club
Club includes Instant Savings, member-only fuel prices, Scan & Go, two membership cards, and free curbside pickup on eligible orders over $50, according to Sam’s Club’s benefits comparison.
Plus
Plus includes Club benefits, plus 2% Sam’s Cash on qualifying in-club purchases up to $750 per year, free shipping on eligible orders over $50, free select same-day or next-day delivery from the local club on eligible orders over $50, and early shopping and online savings access. Eligibility rules and exclusions apply, so check Sam’s Club’s current terms before counting on a benefit for a particular order.
Is Sam’s Club Plus worth the extra $60?
Plus costs $60 more per year than Club. Whether that difference is worthwhile depends on the benefits you will actually use—not just the maximum reward amount.
- Eligible in-club spending: Estimate potential Sam’s Cash using the stated 2% rate on qualifying purchases, while accounting for eligibility and the annual cap.
- Shipping and delivery: Consider whether you regularly place orders that qualify for the Plus shipping or select local delivery benefits.
- Early access and online savings: Include these only if you expect to use them.
- Renewal timing: Check when the new annual fee will apply to your membership.
This comparison can help you judge likely value, but it cannot guarantee that Plus will pay for itself. Actual value varies with eligible purchases and personal use.

Sam’s Club says current members renew at the updated rate during their next billing cycle. To find your date, sign in to your account and check your membership details. Sam’s Club says members can renew online, at a club, by phone, or through chat; see its renewal payments and options page for current instructions. Check your account for the price and date that apply to you.
Promotional offers for new members can change. A first-year offer shown on Sam’s Club’s joining page ended July 5, 2026, so it is not current; verify any available offer directly on the live joining page before relying on it.
