IKEA’s Redmond location has already opened: it welcomed customers on February 11, 2026, at Redmond Town Center. It is a Plan & order point with Pick-up—not a traditional warehouse where shoppers can take purchases home the same day.

What kind of IKEA location is it?
Redmond is a Plan & order point with Pick-up, a smaller format focused on project planning and order collection rather than a full warehouse shopping experience. Customers can book one-on-one planning consultations for kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms, small-space living, and other home projects.
Can you take IKEA purchases home the same day?
No. IKEA says customers cannot take purchases home the same day at the Redmond location. Staff can arrange delivery or schedule a later pickup. Qualifying online orders can be designated for pickup at Redmond during checkout; check the order’s eligibility and available pickup options before placing it.

How does Redmond fit IKEA’s expansion in the U.S.?
IKEA’s August 19, 2026 update says 29 new U.S. meeting points opened in fiscal year 2026: nine small-format stores, 10 Plan and order points, and 10 meeting points inside Best Buy locations. IKEA describes Plan and order points as places for personalized project support and order collection. These figures provide national context, not a measure of Redmond’s size, staffing, or local economic impact.
The location was described differently in earlier coverage: IKEA called Redmond its second location in the Seattle metro area, while KIRO 7’s August 26, 2025 report described it as the second IKEA in Washington state. Those descriptions refer to different geographic areas and should not be treated as interchangeable.
