No reliable current, consolidated valuation of Elvis Presley’s estate is established by the sources available. A frequently cited figure of “upward of $500 million” describes a business estimate from roughly two decades before a 2025 report—not what the estate is worth today. The same report’s estimate of $10 million in annual Graceland revenue measures income, not the value of the property or the wider estate.
Why there is no dependable “worth today” figure
A current net-worth figure would require a defined list of assets and liabilities, current valuations, and clarity about which trust interests and business rights are included. The sources cited here do not provide that consolidated accounting. A single headline number can therefore imply more certainty—and a broader scope—than the evidence supports.

The Los Angeles Times reported on June 19, 2025, that Graceland, merchandising Elvis Presley’s image, and managing his music royalties had been described as worth “upward of $500 million” two decades earlier. That is a historical estimate of a combined business context, not a 2026 appraisal of Elvis’s estate. The article also gave an estimated $10 million in annual revenue for Graceland; revenue is money earned over a period, not an asset’s sale or market value. Los Angeles Times, June 19, 2025
What “Elvis Presley’s estate” can include
The answer depends on what is being valued. These related but distinct scopes should not be treated as interchangeable:

#1 Best Overall
- Personal estate and trust interests: the assets, liabilities, and interests held by or for the estate and trusts. The cited sources do not establish their current consolidated value.
- Graceland: the property and grounds, the visitor attraction, and the associated operating business. A property valuation and a valuation of the visitor business are different measures.
- The broader Presley Business: commercial rights involving Presley’s name, image, likeness, and trademarks, along with selected recorded works and other media. The value of these rights depends on the specific rights and business interests included.
A 2008 CKX, Inc. SEC filing described the Presley Business as including commercial rights, Graceland attractions, and revenue from certain recorded works and other media. It reported a historical ownership split of 85% for CKX and 15% for the Promenade Trust. Those figures describe the arrangement reported at that time, not current ownership. CKX, Inc. Form 10-K, 2008
What the published figures do—and do not—tell you
| Figure | What it refers to | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| “Upward of $500 million” | A historical estimate, reported by the Los Angeles Times in 2025, of a combined Graceland, image-merchandising, and music-royalty business context from roughly two decades earlier. Los Angeles Times, June 19, 2025 | Elvis Presley’s current estate value, a 2026 appraisal, or a standalone value for Graceland. |
| $10 million annually | Estimated annual Graceland revenue reported by the Los Angeles Times in 2025. Los Angeles Times, June 19, 2025 | Property value, profit, or the value of the full estate. |
| Approximately 564,000 visitors per year | CKX, Inc.’s 2009 SEC filing reported this as Graceland’s average annual attendance over the preceding five years. CKX, Inc. Form 10-K, 2009 | Current attendance, revenue, or value. |
| 13.5 acres | Graceland acreage in CKX, Inc.’s 2009 SEC filing. CKX, Inc. Form 10-K, 2009 | An appraisal or a basis for calculating estate value. |
| 13.8 acres | Graceland grounds as described in National Park Service documentation from 1991. National Park Service, National Register documentation, 1991 | An appraisal or proof that the property’s value differs from a valuation based on the other acreage description. |
| 85% / 15% | Historical Presley Business ownership split reported for CKX and the Promenade Trust in a 2008 SEC filing. CKX, Inc. Form 10-K, 2008 | Current ownership or the present value of either party’s interest. |
| $3.8 million | The alleged loan amount stated in a public notice in the fraudulent foreclosure scheme reported by the Associated Press in 2025. The attempted sale was stopped, and the scheme was prosecuted. Associated Press, 2025 | A valid debt, Graceland’s value, or the value of Elvis Presley’s estate. |
Why Graceland’s operations are not the same as its property value
Graceland can be discussed as real estate, a visitor attraction, or part of a wider licensing and entertainment business. Each scope calls for different evidence. Annual revenue is a flow of money generated over a year; it does not show operating costs, liabilities, ownership shares, or what a buyer would pay for the property and business. Historical attendance can help explain the attraction’s past scale, but it cannot by itself establish current earnings or value.

A 2009 SEC filing described Graceland as operating under a 90-year lease with the Promenade Trust and recorded historical attendance. These are details of the arrangement and business as reported then, not evidence of today’s lease terms or ownership. CKX, Inc. Form 10-K, 2009

No. The Associated Press reported in 2025 that an attempted foreclosure involving Graceland was a fraudulent scheme; the attempted sale was stopped and the scheme was prosecuted. The $3.8 million figure was the alleged loan amount stated in a public notice, not a verified debt or an appraisal of Graceland. It should not be used to infer the property’s value or the estate’s liabilities. Associated Press, 2025

How to read claims about Elvis’s net worth
- Check the date: a decades-old business estimate is not a present-day valuation.
- Check the scope: a figure for Graceland, a rights portfolio, or a business is not automatically a figure for the personal estate and trusts.
- Check the measure: revenue, attendance, acreage, and an alleged loan amount are not asset value.
- Check what is missing: a net-worth calculation needs current asset values and liabilities, which the cited sources do not provide.
