Does the 18-year claim check out?
Not in the two official announcements. The April release says Endless Shrimp had been part of Red Lobster’s legacy for 20 years and refers to its last appearance on menus; the August release says the promotion had been around for more than two decades. Neither establishes an 18-year gap, so that duration should not be treated as confirmed.
The April announcement quotes CEO Damola Adamolekun saying, “This is about putting our guests first and bringing back something they truly love.” It also describes thousands of social media mentions asking for the promotion’s return, but provides no exact count or methodology. The August release says the spring return exceeded company expectations, without reporting a numerical result.

The latest announcement identified here is dated August 17, 2026. It calls the promotion limited-time but gives no end date. As of October 7, 2026, these announcements do not establish whether the offer remains active or whether a particular restaurant is participating. Check with your local Red Lobster before making a trip; the April release specifically limited that run to dine-in at participating locations.
