How much does Spotify Premium cost in the U.S. now?
The following before-and-after amounts were reported by TechRadar on January 15, 2026. Spotify’s announcement did not publish a plan-by-plan price table, so treat these as reported U.S. prices and confirm your account’s charge in Spotify’s notice.

The new monthly prices and prior amounts are TechRadar’s reported figures. The annual increases are arithmetic: the monthly difference multiplied by 12, assuming the subscription remains active at that rate for a full year; they are not separate Spotify-published charges. Spotify’s U.S. Premium page lists Individual at $12.99 per month.
What changed, and when?
Spotify announced pricing updates on January 15, 2026, for subscribers in the United States, Estonia and Latvia. For U.S. subscribers, TechRadar reported that the new prices took effect in February 2026. The dollar amounts above are U.S. figures, not prices for Estonia or Latvia. Spotify said occasional price updates reflect the value it delivers and help it continue offering its service; that is the company’s stated rationale.

The change has already happened for affected accounts. An old price shown in a search result or a past promotion should not be taken as your current renewal price.
How can you check your price and next charge?
- Look for Spotify’s price-change email. Spotify says it emails subscribers about a new price and gives them a one-month grace period to cancel before that change takes effect.
- Open your Spotify account page and check the plan and billing date. Spotify says the billing date is visible there; the specific date depends on the account.
- Use the price and timing in your account notice to confirm what you will pay. Plan and account details can affect the date the new charge starts.
Spotify says trial subscribers receive one month at the original price after the trial ends before the new plan price applies. If you recently finished a trial, check the account notice rather than assuming the higher rate starts immediately.

What do you get with Premium Individual?
Spotify’s U.S. Premium page lists Individual at $12.99 per month and describes ad-free listening, lossless audio, offline downloads and the ability to play songs in any order. The page also displayed a three-month Individual promotion ending September 23, 2026; that offer has expired and is not a current deal.
The available source details do not establish current eligibility rules for Duo, Family or Student, so verify those requirements on Spotify’s plan page before choosing or changing plans. Spotify’s official page specifically describes one Premium account for Individual.

What can you do if the new price is not worth it?
Spotify says its free, ad-supported service remains available for people who do not want to pay the Premium price. It also says subscribers can cancel at any time before their next billing date. Check your account’s billing date and cancellation details so you know when a paid subscription will stop renewing.
Spotify has not published its full plan-by-plan amounts in the announcement cited here, and the reported prices do not establish whether another service costs less. Compare current prices and features directly before switching.
