President Donald Trump pardoned Todd and Julie Chrisley on May 28, 2025, nearly three years after a federal jury convicted them of bank fraud and tax-related offenses. The Justice Department’s clemency listing records grants for both that day. Todd Chrisley’s published warrant calls his pardon “full and unconditional” and orders his immediate release; the available warrant is Todd’s, not Julie’s. The Associated Press reported that both were released later that day.

What were Todd and Julie Chrisley convicted of?

A federal jury convicted the couple on June 7, 2022, on all counts of a superseding indictment, including conspiracy to commit bank fraud, bank fraud, wire fraud, and conspiracy to commit tax evasion. Julie Chrisley was also convicted of obstruction of justice, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Georgia.

Prosecutors said the couple and a former business partner obtained more than $36 million in personal loans from community banks using false bank statements, audit reports, and personal financial statements. The sentencing release said the money was spent on luxury cars, designer clothes, real estate, and travel, while new fraudulent loans were used to repay earlier loans. Prosecutors also said the Chrisleys did not file federal tax returns or pay taxes for tax years 2013 through 2016. These details describe the prosecution’s account; the jury’s convictions are the established verdict.

U.S. Attorney Ryan K. Buchanan said at sentencing: “Over the course of a decade, the defendants defrauded banks out of tens of millions of dollars while evading payment of their federal income taxes.” The couple are best known for the television series Chrisley Knows Best, the Associated Press reported.

What sentences did they receive?

On November 21, 2022, U.S. District Judge Eleanor L. Ross sentenced Todd Chrisley to 12 years in prison followed by three years of supervised release, and Julie Chrisley to seven years in prison followed by three years of supervised release, according to the Justice Department sentencing announcement.

The DOJ Office of the Pardon Attorney’s clemency listing records Todd’s sentence as 144 months, three years of supervised release, and $17,270,741.57 in restitution. It records Julie’s sentence as 84 months, three years of supervised release, and $4,740,645.04 in restitution, and notes that her sentence was amended on September 25, 2024.

When did Trump pardon them, and what do the records show?

The DOJ clemency listing records pardons for both Todd and Julie Chrisley dated May 28, 2025. Todd’s signed Executive Grant of Clemency, dated May 28 and identifying United States v. Chrisley, 1:19-cr-297, states: “A FULL AND UNCONDITIONAL PARDON” and directs his immediate release. That published instrument is Todd’s; it should not be treated as Julie’s pardon warrant.

The Associated Press reported that both were freed hours after the pardons were announced. Todd was released in Pensacola, Florida, and Julie left a facility in Lexington, Kentucky. The DOJ listing confirms the date of the grants for both; the signed warrant cited here confirms the wording and release direction for Todd.

What do the pardons establish about restitution?

The DOJ clemency listing records restitution of $17,270,741.57 for Todd and $4,740,645.04 for Julie. Those are the amounts shown in the listing alongside their sentences. The cited clemency records do not determine the legal effect of the pardons on either restitution obligation, so the fact of release should not be read as proof that those financial obligations were erased or preserved.
