Gate is betting that crypto users will want one app for trading, payments, yield products and more. Its expanding feature set shows how crypto platforms are converging with broader financial apps, but current evidence does not establish that all-in-one apps are crypto’s biggest consumer trend in 2026 or 2027—or that most consumers are using crypto for everyday payments.
What Gate means by an all-in-one money app
Gate’s strategy is to bring more financial tasks into one platform rather than focus solely on crypto trading. The company describes Gate AI as an assistant available on its website and app, with natural-language guidance and actions connected to trading and other financial products. Gate lists spot trading, Convert, Simple Earn, Staking, Dual Investment, Leveraged ETF, token-launch products and Gate Pay merchants among the services in its ecosystem. It also describes AI-assisted order workflows and continuity between web and app for logged-in users. These are Gate’s product descriptions, not independent evidence of performance or access for every customer. See Gate’s Gate AI page.
Gate’s August 2026 transparency report describes a still broader mix that includes stocks, ETFs, CFDs, tokenized stocks, earn and staking products, on-chain services, AI and institutional services. Gate says some services may be restricted in certain regions. The availability of a feature does not establish that it is available to every account or legally accessible in every jurisdiction; check local eligibility and product terms. See Gate’s August 2026 transparency report.
The strategic idea is straightforward: an app can try to keep a customer within one ecosystem for investing, managing assets and making payments. That is a meaningful product direction. It is not, by itself, proof that consumers have adopted the model at scale.

Is it really crypto’s biggest consumer trend?
The available evidence supports a trend toward crypto platforms adding broader financial functions, but it does not rank that development as the biggest consumer trend for this year and next. Binance Research describes crypto-native wallets evolving toward neobank-like platforms with banking, payments, cards and yield products. That supports the existence of a convergence thesis, not a comparative ranking of what consumers care about most. See Binance Research’s Full-Year 2025 & Themes for 2026 report.
Survey evidence also points in different directions depending on who was asked. The National Cryptocurrency Association’s 2026 State of Crypto Holders report, conducted with The Harris Poll, surveyed 10,000 U.S. crypto holders. It found that 41% described crypto as an investment, a payment method and a technology platform at the same time, and 76% said they wanted their bank to let them buy, hold and manage crypto alongside regular accounts. Those results indicate interest in broader utility and integration among people who already hold crypto; they do not represent the general U.S. population. See the NCA’s summary of its 2026 report.

The Federal Reserve’s 2026 report on household well-being gives a more restrained picture of transactional use among U.S. adults in 2025. It reports that 9% bought or held cryptocurrency as an investment, while 2% used it to buy something or make a payment and 1% used it to send money to friends or family. Respondents could select more than one answer. In this survey, investment use was more common than payment or transfer use. See the Federal Reserve’s 2026 household well-being report.
A separate historical series points in the same cautious direction. A Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City briefing using Survey of Household Economics and Decisionmaking data found that the share of U.S. consumers using crypto for payments was nearly 3% in 2021 and 2022, then below 2% in 2023 and 2024. The authors, Fumiko Hayashi and Aditi Routh, write that “The share of U.S. consumers who report using cryptocurrency for payments—purchases, money transfers, or both—has been very small and has declined slightly in recent years.” See the Kansas City Fed briefing.

There are signs of activity in payment infrastructure, but they should not be mistaken for evidence of mass consumer adoption. Gate Research’s 2026 outlook says crypto payment-card transaction volumes reached new highs for 12 consecutive months in 2025, citing Dune data. Transaction volume is not the same measure as the share of consumers who pay with crypto, and it does not show that app consolidation is the leading consumer trend. See Gate Research’s 2025 review and 2026 outlook.
What consumers should look for in an integrated app
A long feature list can make an app look comprehensive, but breadth is only one part of deciding whether it is useful. Before using a platform for multiple financial tasks, assess the services and protections that matter for your situation:

- EASY ASSET MANAGEMENT: Monitor and transact seamlessly with Trezor Suite, our user-friendly desktop and mobile app
- Local availability: Confirm that the specific feature is available to your account and permitted where you live. A platform’s overall service list may include products that are restricted in some regions.
- What kind of service it is: A crypto exchange, self-custody wallet and bank-linked product are not interchangeable. Understand which entity provides each service and how your assets are held before depositing funds.
- Everyday payment utility: Check whether merchants you use accept the payment method and whether the app’s payment functions fit your needs. A payment-related feature does not establish broad merchant acceptance or widespread consumer use.
- Trading and yield features: Review the terms and risks of each product separately. An app that groups trading and yield options together does not make them equivalent to a bank deposit or guarantee a return.
- Costs, eligibility and protections: Confirm fees, account requirements, custody arrangements and applicable consumer protections from the product’s current terms and local regulator or provider information. These details are product- and jurisdiction-specific.
Gate’s own example prompts for its assistant include “What’s the outlook for BTC next?”, “Is the altcoin season coming?”, and “How to invest idle coins, and which yields are higher?” They illustrate the kinds of questions Gate says users can ask; they are not evidence of how consumers generally search or invest. Treat AI-generated market guidance as a starting point for your own assessment, not as a guarantee or substitute for understanding a product’s risks.

Gate’s product descriptions and industry commentary show a real push to combine crypto trading with payments, yield products, AI assistance and other financial services. Surveys suggest that crypto holders want more integration, while broader U.S. adult data show that investment use remains more common than direct crypto payments or transfers. The sources support calling all-in-one financial apps a strategic direction for crypto platforms—not calling them the proven biggest consumer trend of 2026 and 2027.
