Martha Stewart reported that the bags debuted September 16, 2025, and that shoppers could sign up on ALDI’s website for an availability notification. The old sign-up address now redirects to a different ALDI promotion, so it is not a live Big Bag entry page.
How the ALDI Big Bag giveaway worked
Martha Stewart reported on September 11, 2025, that ALDI planned to give away 1,000 limited-edition reusable Big Bags, with a debut date of September 16. The reported process was to sign up on ALDI’s website to receive a notification when the bags became available. The article said the bags would not be sold in stores.
The report described the bag as measuring 36 × 22 × 16 inches, or 5.5 square feet. Those dimensions were reported by Martha Stewart; they are not independently verified specifications here. ALDI’s campaign language, as quoted in the report, was: “bigger savings mean bigger hauls, and bigger hauls mean you need a bigger bag.”
Can you still sign up or get one?
The reported September 2025 debut has passed, and the sources do not establish that the Big Bag giveaway is still open, that bags remain available, or that ALDI will repeat the promotion. The former address, aldibigbag.com, now redirects to ALDI’s page for an unrelated Encore Box promotion, which is marked sold out. That redirect does not confirm what happened to the Big Bag giveaway or whether recipients received bags.

The accessible report did not provide complete official giveaway rules. Eligibility, geographic limits, entry limits, a closing date, and final distribution status are therefore not established. Do not treat the old address as a working Big Bag sign-up page.
What ALDI’s savings claim does—and doesn’t—mean
The giveaway story tied the oversized bag to ALDI’s savings message. Martha Stewart reported ALDI’s claim that a family of four could save up to $321 a month, or about $4,000 a year. ALDI’s 2025 ALDI Price Leadership Report describes these as estimates, not a guaranteed result for every household.

ALDI CEO Jason Hart said in that report: “We now know ALDI can save shoppers up to 36% on an average household’s shopping list. For a family of four, that’s nearly $4,000 a year.” The report’s cost analysis compared a 70-item basket across five U.S. metro areas. It estimated annual savings of $3,852 for a family of four buying comparable brand-name products versus traditional grocers, and $1,869 when buying competitor private-label products. Actual savings depend on the basket and comparison group.
The report also included a separate consumer-perception survey commissioned by ALDI and fielded July 15–19, 2024, with 1,994 usable responses from qualifying ALDI shoppers. Those survey responses are distinct from the report’s price-basket cost analysis.

If you missed the giveaway
The report said the exact Big Bag would not be sold in stores, and it did not establish that the tote is a regular retail product. If you want a similarly large reusable grocery bag, look for an oversized tote from another seller and check its dimensions and capacity; it would be an alternative, not the ALDI Big Bag.
