Google’s 2024 Holiday 100 was a cross-category snapshot of gifts people were searching for—not a ranking of the best products, top sellers or most-gifted items. The list covered everything from apparel and beauty to electronics and home goods, and its examples offer a useful look back at what caught shoppers’ attention that holiday season.
What the Google Holiday 100 was
Google described the Holiday 100 as a list of “the most sought-after gifts of the year” across apparel, accessories, home and garden, electronics, toys and games, beauty, and health and wellness, according to Social Media Today’s November 12, 2024 coverage. Shop TODAY’s roundup, updated December 20, 2024, also presented products associated with Google search trends.
That makes the list a record of search interest around the 2024 holiday season, not a live gift guide. A product’s inclusion indicates attention in searches; it does not establish quality, value, sales volume or how many people ultimately gave it as a present. The cited coverage does not provide enough detail about Google’s methodology to treat the list as a ranked or independently verified measure.
