Gradiant announced five new design-build contracts in India on 7 October 2026, spanning semiconductor, printed circuit board (PCB) and solar manufacturing. The company says the work includes ultrapure-water, wastewater-treatment and zero-liquid-discharge (ZLD) systems. It did not identify the customers or disclose contract values.
What are the five contracts for?
The awards cover three manufacturing sectors: semiconductors, PCBs and solar. Gradiant says the contracts include a repeat award from a global chipmaker that is expanding its fab. The announcement does not map particular treatment systems to particular customers or projects, so the precise scope of each contract is not known.
Gradiant describes the work as involving ultrapure-water production, wastewater treatment and ZLD systems. In manufacturing, these services address water quality and the handling or reuse of process wastewater; however, the announcement does not provide project-level designs, capacity figures or delivery schedules for the five new awards.
What is known—and not known—about the awards?
| Information | What Gradiant disclosed |
|---|---|
| Number and type | Five new design-build contracts |
| Industries | Semiconductor, PCB and solar manufacturing |
| Stated work | Ultrapure water, wastewater treatment and ZLD; exact scope by project not stated |
| Customer identities | Not stated; Gradiant only describes one as a global chipmaker expanding its fab |
| Contract values | Not stated, individually or collectively |
| Delivery schedules | Not stated |
Because customer names, deal values and individual technical scopes are absent, the awards cannot be compared by size, specifications or timing on the information announced. The claims about the new contracts come from Gradiant’s 7 October 2026 announcement; no independent customer validation is identified.

Is the Gujarat semiconductor fab a new contract?
No. Gradiant’s separately described Gujarat semiconductor-fab water project is earlier work, not one of the five newly announced awards as presented in the announcement. Gradiant’s case study says that project went online in March 2026 and describes an integrated package of ultrapure-water production, wastewater recycling and ZLD delivered under a design-build-operate model.
The company’s 2026 case study lists the Gujarat project’s ultrapure-water system capacity as 4,000 m³/day and its system recovery as 96%. These are Gradiant-reported project figures, not specifications for the five new contracts or independently audited performance results. Gradiant’s Gujarat semiconductor-fab case study
Who will lead Gradiant’s India growth?
Gradiant appointed Hari Prasad Managing Director, India, with responsibility for growth across semiconductors, data centers and energy. The company describes him as having nearly 30 years of water-technology leadership experience. Most recently, he was General Manager, Industrial Water at Pentair, after senior roles across India, the Middle East and Africa.
Gradiant also said it plans to increase its India team by more than 40% during 2026. The planned expansion is expected to cover engineering, project execution, operations and digital roles, including positions at its Gradiant Engineering Center in Coimbatore. This is a stated hiring plan, not a report that the hiring has already been completed.
What does Gradiant expect from its India business?
Prasad said in the 7 October 2026 announcement: “Our orders in India are on track to more than double this year, with revenue set to more than triple.” This is his outlook for the year, not a confirmed result or independently verified forecast.
Gradiant CEO Prakash Govindan described India as “fast becoming one of the most important places to build the AI supply chain, from chips to circuit boards to solar cells.” That is the company’s strategic view; the announcement does not quantify how much of the five-contract pipeline is tied to AI-related demand.

The announcement establishes that Gradiant says it has won five design-build awards across three Indian manufacturing sectors and is preparing to expand its local team. It does not reveal who the customers are, how much the contracts are worth or what each project will deliver. The Gujarat fab figures provide context for a separate project already online, not a template for the new awards.
