Modere announced it was closing in April 2025. The following month, a Shaklee subsidiary acquired substantially all of Modere’s business assets. Selected products continued to be sold through Shaklee, but that does not mean Modere resumed operating as an independent company. Availability depends on the country and the product.
Did Modere shut down?
Yes. On April 11, 2025, Direct Selling News reported Modere’s closure announcement. The company’s statement said, “After 23 wonderful years of serving our cherished community, we’ve made the difficult decision to close our doors.” The “23 years” figure is Modere’s own wording as quoted in the report, not an independently audited duration. Read Direct Selling News’s report.
In May 2025, a Shaklee subsidiary acquired substantially all of Modere’s business. That asset transaction and the later sale of selected products through Shaklee are distinct from Modere continuing its own independent operations.
What happened to Modere’s business and products?
Shaklee announced on May 23, 2025 that its subsidiary acquired substantially all of Modere’s business, including rights to trademarks, patents and product formulas, as well as manufacturing and testing equipment and related inventory. Shaklee said selected products would be sold through its ambassador network and on Shaklee.com. See Shaklee’s acquisition announcement.

- Confirm the exact product name and formulation rather than relying on an older Modere listing.

TINA.org’s timeline summarizes a December 18, 2023 decision by the Direct Selling Self-Regulatory Council (DSSRC). According to TINA.org, the case concerned atypical income claims and unsubstantiated health claims associated with Modere and distributors, including claims about Project 23 supplements and PMS and menopause symptoms. TINA.org also says Modere removed or modified more than 200 social-media posts in response to the inquiry, while not committing to permanently discontinue certain efficacy claims. These are findings and actions as summarized by TINA.org; they do not establish a cause for Modere’s later closure. Read TINA.org’s Modere timeline.
