Trulieve Cannabis Corp. repaid a $15.8 million mortgage to Blue Ridge Bank on December 30, 2025—not the $65 million stated in the original headline. The company’s 2025 annual report says the payoff used $8.3 million from operations and $7.5 million in restricted escrow cash, and recorded a $0.1 million loss on debt extinguishment.
How much mortgage debt did Trulieve repay?
Trulieve reported repaying $15.8 million of mortgage debt. Its annual report identifies the debt as a Blue Ridge Bank mortgage note and says the payoff occurred on December 30, 2025. The note had originally been due December 22, 2032. Trulieve’s 2025 annual report details the repayment; the company’s February 26, 2026 full-year results release also summarizes it as a $15.8 million mortgage repayment.
The $65 million figure in the original headline is not supported by those disclosures. The available filings do not establish whether it was a typo or a mix-up with another transaction.
How Trulieve funded the payoff
Trulieve said it used two sources for the repayment:

- $8.3 million from operations
- $7.5 million from restricted escrow cash
The annual report also records a $0.1 million loss on debt extinguishment, reflecting deferred issuance costs written off in the accounting. That cost is part of the reported transaction and means the payoff did not have zero accounting impact.
Why the $368 million figure is different
Trulieve’s full-year 2025 results release also reports redeeming $368 million of senior secured notes due in 2026. That was a separate debt transaction, not the Blue Ridge Bank mortgage. The $15.8 million mortgage repayment and the $368 million notes redemption should not be conflated.

What the repayment does—and does not—show about Trulieve’s finances
Paying off the mortgage eliminated the stated obligation before its original 2032 maturity, but it also used cash, including restricted escrow funds. The disclosures cited here do not quantify the repayment’s standalone effect on liquidity, leverage, or the company’s overall balance sheet, so the transaction alone does not establish a net improvement in financial position.
For context, Trulieve’s August 7, 2026 second-quarter release reported $271 million in Q2 revenue and a 60% gross margin. It also reported $109 million in operating cash flow and $74 million in free cash flow for the first half of 2026. These are company-reported figures in U.S. dollars and, unless otherwise indicated, under U.S. GAAP. They describe broader results; they do not isolate the effect of the December 2025 mortgage payoff. Trulieve’s Q2 2026 results release provides the figures, and its latest quarterly filing cited here is the Form 10-Q for the period ended June 30, 2026.
