Tangem says its virtual Visa card can be used at more than 150 million merchants in over 150 countries, but that reach is not the same as being able to open an account everywhere. Tangem limits enrollment to the United States and select countries, and says some U.S. states and countries are excluded. Its official pages describe availability limits; they do not quantify global demand or prove that demand exceeds access.
Can you get Tangem Pay where you live?
Only if your location is eligible. Tangem’s current product page says Tangem Pay is available in the United States and select countries across Latin America, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Africa. It warns that not every country in those regions or every U.S. state is supported, and tells applicants to check eligibility during onboarding. Tangem Pay product page and Tangem Help Center
That makes two different questions important: whether you can enroll from your location, and where you can use the card after enrollment. Tangem’s published reach figures address merchant acceptance, not who can sign up. They do not show how many people are excluded or how many would-be users are seeking access.
Merchant acceptance is not enrollment availability
Tangem says its virtual Visa card is accepted in over 150 countries and at over 150 million merchants worldwide. These are company-published figures, not an independent measure of access or demand. Visa acceptance does not mean a resident of every country can obtain a Tangem Pay account.

Before comparing crypto cards, check each on its own terms: enrollment geography, merchant reach, card format, supported funding assets and networks, identity checks, and the companies responsible for the wallet, payment service and card issuance. A large acceptance footprint answers only one part of the comparison.
What Tangem Pay includes
A virtual Visa card
Tangem offers Tangem Pay through its Tangem Wallet app as a payment account and virtual Visa card. Tangem says the card can be used online and in stores, for bookings and subscriptions, and with Apple Pay or Google Pay where those services are available. A separate Tangem Wallet prerequisite
Tangem says a Tangem Wallet is required to activate Tangem Pay. The wallet and payment account are separate products: buying a Tangem hardware wallet does not turn the virtual Visa card into a physical one or remove location-based eligibility limits. Check the current product terms and onboarding flow before buying a wallet specifically to use Tangem Pay.
Provider and issuer
Tangem identifies Paera LLC as the service provider for eligible users and Rain as the card issuer. It says Tangem AG, the company behind the hardware wallet, does not operate Tangem Pay. These are distinct roles: the wallet maker, payment-service provider and issuer are not interchangeable.

Funding, verification and custody details
Tangem’s March 26, 2026 availability announcement, updated May 27, 2026, described USDC on Polygon for the launch in select regions. That announcement is dated; consult Tangem’s current product information and the live onboarding flow for supported assets and networks rather than assuming the launch description remains complete. Tangem’s Help Center also describes identity verification and eligibility checks, so applicants should review current requirements and terms before applying.
Tangem describes Tangem Pay as a regulated payment account and says neither Tangem AG nor Paera LLC holds custody of users’ funds, which it says remain in a self-custodial smart contract. Those are Tangem’s descriptions, not an independent assessment of custody arrangements or regulatory status. Read the applicable account terms to understand the arrangement for your jurisdiction.

What the access gap claim does—and doesn’t—show
The available official information establishes that Tangem Pay’s enrollment is geographically selective even though Tangem advertises broad Visa merchant reach. It does not establish the scale of worldwide demand, the number of applicants turned away, or a measured gap between demand and access. The claim that access “doesn’t match global demand” should therefore be understood as attributed framing, not a demonstrated market-wide statistic.
