U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded a reported net inflow of $119 million on October 6, 2026, while Ether ETFs reportedly lost $201.9 million. The Bitcoin total was not a uniform buying signal: BlackRock’s IBIT took in $122 million, but withdrawals from other funds reduced the category’s net gain. The Ether figure comes from a brief related-news report and has not been independently verified.
What the October 6 ETF flow figures show
Tokenpost and KuCoin, both citing SoSoValue, reported that U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs had a combined net inflow of $119 million for the October 6, 2026 session. The reports were published October 7, so the flow date and publication date are different. These are secondary reports; the figures were not independently reconciled here with SoSoValue’s dashboard or issuer filings. Tokenpost report via Pluang; KuCoin report.
The category’s reported net assets were $110.677 billion, and cumulative net inflows were $57.817 billion as of October 6, according to the same reports. Those are reported snapshot figures, not independently verified totals. They describe the funds’ reported scale and cumulative flows; they do not measure investor returns.
Why IBIT’s $122 million inflow exceeded the $119 million category total
A category net flow combines inflows and outflows across its funds. IBIT’s reported $122 million inflow could therefore exceed the overall $119 million net inflow because withdrawals from other funds offset part of its gain. The reported fund-level figures also include $7.84 million in net inflows for Morgan Stanley’s MSBT and $10.97 million in outflows from Grayscale Bitcoin Mini Trust (ticker BTC). The reports show different net-flow directions for the two U.S. spot ETF categories during the October 6 session. They do not establish why investors allocated money differently, whether the movement was driven by any particular market event, or whether either category’s flows predict future prices. ETF flows are a dated measure of reported fund activity, not a forecast or a measure of the return an individual investor earned.
